| Was meant in a light hearted manner, I suppose all we can all do is see what the results of recent developments are. But Belle Vue in its current form is a no go.

If I remember rightly it was the Chairman of the Trust who told the Club not to put a bid in and I was sat in a meeting in the Town Hall when Yorkcourt informed us that they had in their possession a Contract to purchase Belle Vue.
Nothing in writing as fas as I am aware but statements made in front of witnesses.

Jesus H Christ; it gets worse.
So would any of those witnesses make a statement to that effect - or would they be considered hostile, or at best, ambivalent?

By the sounds of it, the guy at 88M is a very shrewd business man, he doesn't need all this does he.'"
Sorry - missed this.
Maybe he doesn't have plans for the whole site? Or maybe he sees the commercial benefit of busloads of RL fans turning up every second weekend to spend lots of their hard earned at the various retail outlets he would be plonking there?
If he is shrewd, he would no doubt see the value of a captive market and a load of regular foot traffic; the WT players alone would justify a Costa franchise, let alone all the other stuff he's involved in.

Don't think the Chairman of the Trust would but the other Board Members would.
The "Contract" meeting was attended by a Councillor and Council Director so I'm sure they would make a statement.

Thus allowing 88M a clear run at the lowest price and with no expectation by the new owner for any Yorkcourt input. In contrast to, "you buy it and we undertake to assist".
Although I used the word "undertake" with rolling eyes.

| So if I can summarise the Yorkcourt actions thus:
1. Fooled the club and supporters into believing that they would fund a community stadium if they supported the Newmarket development, thus stopping the club and Trust examining other options.
2. Fooled the club into believing that they would buy Belle Vue to provide the community stadium, thus stopping the club and Trust from buying it themselves.
It absolutely beggars belief. How MC can stay sane is beyond me.

| I honestly cannot believe how the club have been used and abused. MC says he doesn't know 'how some people can look at themselves in the mirror' I know exactly how he must feel!
Give me a good old honest burglar any day of the week because half of those in white collars are not fit to lace their boots morally. Really makes me sick how these b......s get away with lies and deceit for huge financial gain ! The sooner all this is out the better. I only know a fraction of what's gone on but I am fuming!

| With hindsight, the decision to bring Rodney Walker into the group looks to have been the biggest mistake of the whole exercise. With Box doing his damndest to scupper any progress from the outside he had the perfect 5th column working from within.

If this was an official meeting of any type then minutes should have been taken, in any event a record of the meeting must surely exist.

| Did anyone hear Michael Carters interview on Radio Yorkshire yesterday.
He was saying that they aren't asking the council for money to build a stadium, they just want whats been promised to them. In view of that, someone said earlier about finding £20m, forgive me if I have misinterpreted that, but to me that sounds like funding isnt an issue, and the funding is in place.
Given light of the situation, couldn't the RFL add weight to our case here, as the sports governing body.
He also mentioned minimum standards being brought in, which, is fine, but also seems ironic to have been brought in, the same season Toronto have come into the league. Further more, part of the minimum standards is having crowds of 6,500, maybe if the only games on a Thursday/Friday, were the televised ones. Our average crowd last year, that I read, was something like 4,993, but pprior to all the re scheduled fixtures, we were close to the 6,000 mark

| Walker, Speaking on the Tour de France (Yorkshire) in 2014 in the WE:
The other legacy is a personal one for Sir Rodney.
He recalled that as a child, one of his teachers told his mum there was “not a cat in hell’s chance” he would pass a GCE in one of his subjects.
“I thought to myself, I’ll show you, and this was the attitude I have when someone throws down a challenge to me.
“You have to remember that I was 70 years-old at the time they asked me, and I rather thought I’d become a forgotten man.
“It’s given me personally a real boost. As any active 70 year-old will tell you, you don’t want people to think you’re past your best.”
So Rodney, in 2014 he should (so we were told) have been in the fight for those community facilities, hardly a forgotten man but apparently that's how he felt. A community stadium for his home city obviously wasn't good enough for this man's ego.

Hitting those crowd figures will possibly be ok if we stay at Wakefield but, we wont get close if/when we move, Dewsbury doesn't have that capacity.

| He did say though on there if Dewsbury happened, that there would be work to be done at the ground.
One was floodlighting, and the other was increasing the capacity. I'm sure there was a third. Think he also mentioned the flats too.
The attendance figure was quoted in his programme notes on Sunday. It was either 6000 or 6500. We were close to the 6000 mark for last season just prior to the play offs
If the capacity part could get sorted, I wouldn't have an issue with Dewsbury, at the end of the day, it is just the far side of Ossett, and probably only a couple of miles of a previously earmarked site, at the side of J40 of the M1

The funding is Yorkcourt building the stadium, nothing else. The minimum standards capacity figure is 8,000.
