My only thing with any of the names though is that we are not improving on Kear. Powell is slightly different so maybe and Noble is much the same but may be able to draw better players in if we have the money but the others are not as good as Kear in my opinion.

The one thing I believe Noble may have in his favour is that he has stepped way from the day to day coaching for a year. He has had a chance to recharge his enthusiasm and has probably been looking a new techniques. He also has that ability to attract reasonable quality of player. I am not saying he is the right man but he is not quite the relic some are making him out to be.

If we are going down the English road then I would like to see us give someone like Darryl Powell a shot. He was thrown into the Leeds job too soon, where he made mistakes. Whilst at Fev he has turned them into a tidy footballing side and learned from his earlier coaching career. I think he would be a good shout too.

Personally though I would like to see us buck the trend, if we are not going after an Aussie assistant then why not an English assistant working under a former Aussie assistant. Somebody like Shaun Wane if he doesn't get the Wigan job, Kieron Purtill at Saints or as I mentioned before Paul Anderson from Huddersfield.

i'd vote for powell if we're going british, i don't know enough to comment on the foreign johnnies too much.

If we were to go for an English coach my choice would be Purtill from ST Helens, I hear lots of good things about him.

We have lots of young guns, with hopefully more coming through and what I would like to see is WT setting up links overseas in order to give our youth a broader rugby and life education. In this respect I feel that SMc would have the contacts, the knowledge etc to be able to do this (whether he would want to do this for WT is a different matter, although I'm sure he would do it for the 'education' of individuals).

Strong rumours emerging from the super bowl car park that Brian McDemott might end up down here next season.

It is after all just a rumour as rumours go, but a very strong one nevertheless.

Surely just adding the Ellis signing and making 5 ?!

You would have thought that if McDemott was staying at Leeds, in view of the fact that there is a strong rumour that Buderus is going home the Leeds coach would have signed Ellis for the rhinos to replace the alleged departing hooker, or maybe i can't count past five!!!

Before his stint at Headingley, he would have been a popular choice I think.
He always turned out a hard working London side, it may not have always been champagne rugby, but it was usually effective.
I hadn't considered him TBH, but I think it could be a good shout, and he would have something to prove.

Still a Wakey lad, it hasn't worked that well for him at Leeds but he could do very well with us. He would demand and get 100% from his players that's for certain. It he came in as our new coach it could be a very good move for all concerned

Interesting that an area of Lupset just 100 yards apart has generated 3 SL coaches, wonder if that can be matched anywhere.

Would love to see figures for areas such as lupset to sho how many pros came from that estate, I would imagine it would be up there with most areas at the top.
