| Horo had a real Horror that's for sure. Other than that I think the rest can hold their heads up. Hampshire was an ideal sub to have on the bench. I'm sure watching a re run will be a lot more enjoyable than the live event.
Where's our Faux aussie tonight.

| A minute or so earlier Horo had taken a belt around the head, stayed down or at least was really slow to play the ball, but got nothing from the ref, dunno who it was, probably Bird if I had to wild guess, but it was worth staying down for.
Soon after was the tackle on Garcia, which on the replay didn't look like much but he stayed down and made a bit of a fuss.
I imagine Horo was a little frustrated and ended up being on the end of a penalty for the Garcia thing, so...yeah, he needs a bit of coaching on control cos these things are gonna happen and we don't want him blowing a gasket and seeing cards....shades of catalan.
I don't think there was anything in the Garcia tackle, Horo made it look worse than it actually was and Garcia made a meal of it but it ain't gonna take a lot more to end up in the dugout for 10, or worse.

| Excellent performance considering Catalans brought their A game and we played almost all game without a recognised number 9.

| Apart from that, I dunno, there's definitely a lot to be positive about, I think I'm coming around to the idea that we know how to give ourselves a chance in tight games this season which we didn't previously.
The reason the games are tight in the first place is another thing altogether, I kinda feel like the first team we come up against to put a decent 80 mins together, is gonna beat us, but...well, that's 3 from 3 with 2 tight ones, maybe that's the way its gonna be for a few games yet..

What handling errors errors? One maybe.
As for the Salford comment your entitled to your opinion I suppose even if it is totally wrong.
Let's be honest though you are knocking the bloke.

Correct, our Ollie got a bad knock in 30th minute and failed HIA, was having a great game too, just how it goes sometimes. Ref did everything to make sure Les Cats won, like let them play out 3 plays in a set whilst my lad lay on the floor with 3 medics round him, then stopped the game after they'd run down the side he would have been defending, also happened twice in the SL game

| Yeah, Horo had a stinker but imo he's played well up to this point. Like someone said it may be a case of trying to hard against the team he's just left. Fifita had a very good game, Tupou was excellent as usual, along with Johnstone and Hampshire had an impressive game again.
What can you say, 3 from 3 without really hitting top form, I'll take that. Even though we lost Wood so some reshuffling had to be done, it was a better performance than against Salford. At this part of the season, it's all about trying to win as many games as you can, while hopefully not taking too many injuries and then gradually improving as the season goes on. Leeds have been doing it for years.

| Although far tighter than I was hoping/expecting, an excellent 2 points for Trin.
A real tough defensive effort against a determined Catalan side.
Wood going off so early certainly didn't help and we failed to convert a couple of chances but, Catalan were well up for this one.
Superb effort and defence like that is a great attribute, well done boys

| Yes Catalan were really fired up and drove it into us strongly. I also think their short kicking game was as good as we will have to face this season and to defend all those drop outs was very encouraging.
Belly will also be pleased we opted for the 2pts in second half when finny was looking to run it. That decision won us the game.
A few things to fix starting with Mr 'Head High' Horo

That's way OTT . He was good in his first two games and then let the occasion get to him yesterday, that's a million miles away from 'big disappointment'. Its way to early write any player off, Ashurst has been pretty much invisible this year compared to last but I have no doubt he will come good when it counts, shall we write him off as well?

Different people see different things, as a former NZ test forward, yeah, he's been disappointing.
If you want to compare Horo to Ashurst, then crack on but the two are total opposites.

| I think Horo has had a slow start with some pluses but more things to improve. It happens with new signings sometimes. It takes time to adjust.
His tackle success % is the lowest of all the forwards. I'm almost tempted to say the missed tackles stat needs a recount it is so high, but at the moment he is reading 16 missed and 96 completed.
His attack is better with an average gain of 5.96 metres which is only ok but ok.
He's made 2 errors with the ball and given 4 penalties away.
In summary I think it's a "Could do better" report.
But I've seen him do better so I think he's worth pursuing.
Stats sometimes hide players being targeted or players having to cover other weak defenders so is not the only consideration and he has only played 3 games so far so let's see how he develops.

We certainly do see it differently, Justin Horo has never played for NZ in his life! One representative game for the Moaris that's all. Might explain your over expectation
It's far to early to judge in fact we shouldn't be judging anyone with 3 from 3 imho. Look how long it took Bill Tupou to get going, he was really poor to start with.

OK, so I over did the NZ test stuff but that still doesn't detract from the massive experience he's had in the NRL and again, you can't compare Bill Tupou with Horo.
As for not judging, he's had two seasons with Catalan, it's not as though he's coming into our league and having to have a settling in period.
James Hasson came with quite a good reputation but that didn't work out too well.

| Horo had a mare - that's not in doubt; he needs to do better, particularly the high shot/penalty count issue.
I don't even know why PP is being discussed - he dropped one ball if I recall correctly; that can happen to anyone. I thought he looked like an absolute handful when running it in - imagine having to face that down, then getting up and seeing Big Dave come at you; soul destroying stuff.
TJ was fairly quiet - but that try was an absolute blinder; and Mead is no slouch when he can be ar5ed, so it took some scoring.
The best player on the pitch by a country mile was Scott Grix - the lad is in the form of his life; it makes such a massive difference to know that the FB is safe as houses.
Ugly win against a team who were going balls-out to salvage a disastrous start to their season; we didn't play especially well, but through better game management and cooler heads, held on for the points - 3 from 3 and 2nd in the league - lovely stuff!

| It was a well fought game, and did very well to come back with the points.
Catalans certainly showed up and made us work for it.
Again too many penalties, but more worryingly, most, seemed by the same player. It could be trying too hard, or trying to settle a few scores.
He was our signing of intent, but not convinced yet. I said at the time I would rather see Batch, Jordy or Annakin more game time, and at the moment I feel the same. Early days yet to be binned off as Chris Chesters worse signing as someone put earlier, only time will tell.
Hope it does work out as I don't like negativity as it can cause friction in camp, and we are trying to build a stable group. The frustrating thing for all concerned should it not work, there is a quota spot here at stake.
