Yeah, and I said "there are so many more films that beat it in so many more areas". The implication being that there are numerous individual films that beat it in multiple areas. Gladiator has a fantastically epic tale, whilst also having an emotional, almost romantic subplot for his wife and kid, as well as being full of well choreographed and brilliant action sequences.

The films I mentioned above have particularly impressive stand out features. SR doesn't have a stand out feature apart from the fact that he spent years digging a hole in the wall, then crawling through a sewer and that he is actually innocent. Other than that small sequence of the film, there is little that makes it stand out above all others. IMO

Love the Terminator series - best being 2, then 1 then the latest - which is genuinely a good film IMO.

Also, can watch Bourne forever - any of 'em, and would love to see more made with Matt Damon.

Well looking forward to the new Dambusters film: screenplay by Stephen Fry and directed by Peter Jackson, although not happy about the dog being called 'Digger' (although I can see that was a no-win situation).

never get bored of watching trading places top ten comedies of all time in my eyes.

Peter Jackson has been scouting for locations near where I live (in the wilds of Lincolnshire). In fact he's been spotted a few times, over the past 3 years.

He has a real commitment to authenticity. I think it will be an amazing film. And regardless of pc name changes, it will probably be more truthful.

They have been talking to the Canadian warplane museum about 'flying' (!) their Lanc over to help with the filming. There's a lot of money up for grabs, but is it worth risking a flying gem?

Believe it or not, if you can find 4 people to pay $2,000canadian each ($1,000 returned) you can fly in their Lanc in a converted bomb bay! Would so love to do that, but would probably soil my trousers doing it!

The big match scenes of This Sporting Life filmed during a BBC Grandstand screening of a 1962 Challenge Cup tie. 28,500+ crammed into Belle Vue. Imagine that. Maybe somebody on here saw it? Let us know! Just sad I was born too late to see it.
