| This is an amazing time to be a Wakefield fan its Wimbledon esc. Carter and co done a unbelievable job of putting a team of players together nobody else wanted its a special bond between players and fans at the moment its great. Tonight at Headingly you had to be there it was magic one of the best away wins under the circumstances we were cannon fodder the poor city going to the City slickers to get hammered in the unveiling of the new Headingly Stadia....
Basically to all Wakey fans that are too lazy to go and watch it on LIVE, shame on you get your bums down to Belle Vue and away, we should have been 500 fans better off tonight it was loud and a magic moment but we should be packing it out we do have the ohhh its on tv attitude we are the only Sporting team in the City FFS get behind us before its too late.

| Mate, I am with you! It is happening. Look at the attendance v Catalans. 4600. I saw 5 people from Catalans. 4600 in the dilapidated hole we live in. What would that have been not long ago? A lot less. Don't get on some folks case for missing games here and there. Life is not that simple.

On a serious note, it would be great if just a few more would leave the comfort of the pub / front room and get down to BV and support the boys, they certainly deserve it.
If there are 17 blokes busting a gut to try and get the win for Trinity, folk should be supporting them and not just pretending that they are Wakefield fans from their bar stool.
The more support we can give them, the easier the job becomes, we really can be the "extra man"

whether this had anything to do with the price hype, timing of the game or being televised we won't know, I personally would of loved to be there but afraid I fail on lots of reasons which makes it impossible to be there whether its home or away now which makes it disappointing for me as I've endured games in past that have had it shoved down my throat, especially from one leeds fan

I don't see your point exactly. Who cares how many we take to away games, other than a bit of shouting to help the team along we gain nothing. Fans who don't travel are not lazy its purely down to choice and circumstances so give that tired old myth a rest pleeease.
Home games are a different matter all together. However tonight will most certainly have helped - if we follow this up with a home win then we should see an upturn this season. Truth is to get folk to BV we need to be consistent at home especially in the big draw games like Leeds and Cas, if we do that then bingo.
That said as is well documented the ground limits what we can do. I have a newly aquired relative from down south who is chomping at the bit to attend a game but sadly I have to keep putting him off. Much as I try to explain what a dump BV is I really don't think he realises. I think he thinks it an older style football ground like Burnley or QPR that kind of thing, IF ONLY!!!!
I don't want it to be a one off so I will really have to be carefull which game I choose - it needs to be a big crowd - a winnable game - and preferably at night! This dillema shows how tricky building support is no matter how well we play.

| Vasty, spot on.
I reckon with half decent modern facilities to provide a modern match day experience we would automatically get 2000 on the gate no problem.
We also hear all this talk of the club buying the ground back but then the problem still remains in that the place is totally unfit for purpose.
Makes you wonder if we will ever get a facility that this club and City deserve

I think it's been lazy and easy option so don't use your so called intelligence to portray it another way. You are out of shape so I expect the easy option is usually the right answer for you

| Friday certainly was a special night, summarised nicely by both player and fans reaction when Broughy finished off that super try. Expensive entry, nightmare journey to (A64 closed due to accident) and away (M62 down to 1 lane east bound) but well worth it. Bit like the old credit card advert about things you just can't put a value on.

| It was pretty special - but how do you sell that to casual fans in advance, when it could so easily have been an expensive embarrassment?
As it happens, I had a top night - went over on the train, so no traffic hassles, met my son who is living there for Uni and watched us stuff Leeds together, then went for a few beers in Headingley Taps - and he even paid for a round; so I had two big surprises in one night!

| I'll happily class myself as an arm chair fan these days. Ever since the Fanzine debacle and threatening lawsuits, I lost the love for Wakefield Trinity and although I still offer my support via the merchandise side, I can honestly say I can't remember my last game.
I managed to get a couple of corporate tickets for Fridays game, so decide to go along and feared the worst with Leeds expected to put on a show with the new stadium. Firstly, the facilities at Leeds are top notch and I ended up sat a couple of rows in front of Michael Carter and co. The view was excellent, especially been so close to Johnstone's hat trick. Tupou was immense down the left hand side and it was good to see a solid Wakefield performance at Headingley.
It was also good to see how the away support came across from a different viewpoint and not one where I would normally be stood on the Western Terrace. Wakefield fans were loud as always and the only thing that kept the Leeds fans going is that irritating brass band !!
Overall, it was a good night. Did it give me a taste of what I used to encounter home and away watching the Wakefield rollercoaster ? Indeed it did.
With other sporting commitments on a weekend, it's never easy to spend all weekend letting these occupy your time without the usual family time. For the past 8 years or so, it is Wakefield that has lost my support.
Will things change in the future ? I'm not 100% sure just yet but this armchair fan is definitely considering a return to continue the ride (albeit 8 years too late) again.

| Very well constructed and honest post Roony owd lad. I'm sure the more you watch those tries the more the "calling" will get to you. you and a thousand or so more stayaways returning to the fold will do the Club a world of good.

You don't have to turn up all the time just when you can. I haven't been to an away game in years and between about 2010 to 2016 I wasn't watching all the home games. This year is my first year with a season ticket since 2008. It takes a while to get back into these things though in my case I hadn't fallen out with the club it was other issues some good some bad. Now I'm back into it and I'm just loving it for what it is, a good team playing a decent sport.
Don't even argue wth people on here all that often these days, its important but not that important.
You'd be ok with your fanzine these days because you'd know exactly where you stood, M popbably wouldn't let either of us do one and sell it in the ground

| In terms of fanzine, I'd have thought it would work much better through social media whether Facebook or Instagram.
Or for that matter YouTube.
Your reach is much better too.
