If we had a choice should we go back to being good old Wakefield Trinity or stay with the Wildcats?

Think you may need to add the option of Trinity Wildcats like we are now.

I'm sure the results will highlight older supporters align themselves to Trinity, but 'Wildcats' as a brand probably encourages younger fans to the game and club.

IMHO to preserve the Trinity name we must demote the Wildcats to a nickname. Back to a proper badge too. The Wildcats logo can appear elsewhere.

Yep - wether you like it or not, Wildcats is a brand that has been created and has some recognition; what it needs now is someone with a proper marketing brain to exploit it effectively.

My kids like it by the way - they call the team Wakey Wildcats.

We are and always have ben Wakefield Trinity, the Wildcats is a marketing brand name.

As a matter of interest the sainted Steve Ferres wanted to drop the Trinity title from the clubs name. Evil Ted said no.

Wildcats can be a nick name and very useful marketing tool but we are Wakefield Trinity - always have been and always will be (fingers crossed securely). Arsenal are the Gunners but not Arsenal Gunners. We are Wakefield Trinity aka "The Wildcats" but never "Wakefield Wildcats". Stevo take note!

Hate the name Wildcats but accept there are a generation of fans who have known nothing different. Agree with the acceptable names mentioned above and agree with Wakefield Wildcats been unacceptable. The official site is the worst for this. If the name is to be shortened then drop Wildcats.

Wildcats did not encourage me as a brand when it was bolted on to the name. I was of teenage age and have and still do refer to the team as trinity. I thought wildcats was tacky then and I still do.

I appreciate the name from a marketing perspective and although It did not interest me at a teenage age or my younger brother ,it may appeal to other younger teens or kids.

I personally would opt to chop the wildcats name but that's one persons opinion.

Wakefield Trinity famous around the World.

Franchising in u.s sports has gone on for quite a while, 1876 it was first introduced in baseball.
One of the reasons the suffix is used is, it is easily portable from one area to another, so the prefix town/city name becomes ignored over years.
So the rhinos of Leeds could very easily be the rhinos of a.n.other town, and thus the beauty of franchise sport.
If you have enough cash you too can have a ready made team, but there is no room for tradition or sentiment.

i put wildcats but thats not the option i would prefer tbh, wakefield trinity wildcats is what i would prefer as option always be trinity but think the wildcats brand has a place now for us , esp for merchandise ect so stay as we are no change wakefield trinity wildcats covers all bases inmho

I havn't been postering long but it seems to me that you argue and discredit any other poster's opinion if it is different to your own. I personally think that this topic is a relevant one to debate and doesn't need your childish comments.

If "wildcats" had been marketed properly from the start we would not be having this debate, IMO it will take off from now on.
