It's not impossible but I thought the Catalan players were borderline hysterical last night. I've never seen a team more petulant with a ref, Sinfield on acid imho.

I find it hard to believe and if anything it seemed more like an offence they would have carried out they seemed that desperate.

Maybe Finn did it but I honestly doubt it.

The fact we didn't get 10 replays of the incident probably means there was nothing to see.

I didn't see a thing and was extremely surprised when it was mentioned, especially with Finny being the alleged culprit.

However lets not forget the decision is down to the RFL disciplinary and facts and evidence can be completely different to our rational interpretation in their surreal world.

Have to sat the VR was pathetic, I like the technology but there has to come a point where you say YES and it needed to be way earlier on the TJ try.

It wasn’t just the TJ try. He looked at the big Dave try far too many times, it was clear the tackle hadn’t been completed from one look at it

What worried me in the request on the DF try was the fact that Hewer called play on, if the VR then says he was held,we would be penalised for playing to the whistle. He should have only asked for grounding if that was the issue, if that is possible within the ever changing VR rules.

The ref called play on and the VR should only be able to check what happend after that.

I thought that at the time - if he calls play on, the player is always gonna keep going - I saw no merit in asking the VR to look at that, and if he'd decided that actually, the tackle was complete, what result do you award, given that the player followed the referee's instructions?

I'm in the same boat with the VR yesterday - the multiple attempts to find a sliver of TJ's foot in touch was painful - it was obvious from the 2nd replay that the try was legit - get on with it!

Yes you are right, just had a look on the RFL site and it was Bentham. There certainly was a point that Alibert did every game for them, maybe that stopped after Thaler made him look like a t1t.

I've just watched the "incident" again (33rd - 34th minute of 2nd half) , Finn is about 20 yards away from it. Arona, Horo and Hampshire were involved in the tackle none of them were near Garcia's head with their hands. The more interesting thing is that after Catalan put the kick into the in goal, you can see Garcia start to rub his eye (well after the ruck is cleared).

Based on previous accusations of this nature, it doesn't appear you need conclusive video evidence to pick up a lengthy ban.... lets see what happens.
