| watched the game again last night and webbs "challenge" (which we were quite close to when it happened) was deliberate use of the elbow where as wilkes at point of impact had arms crossed across his chest and just smashed burrow cleanly..wonder if the rfl will see it the same way because there was no "intent" there but stevo got pretty wound up!

| won't make any difference to webb if he gets a ban. i can't see him getting another go this season at leeds, he's a liability. perhaps he'll turn it round in france, but he doesn't fill me with confidence.

| Wilkes' tackle would have contacted any normal player in the belly/chest area. That's the penalty of being a midget. Burrow gains his advantages running through players legs, so it levels itself out.

| both charged with grade b striking offences- disappointing as wilkes' challenge appeared fair, simply a mismatch!
both can enter early guilty pleas.

| What made the Ollie's hit on Burrow look much worse than it was, was that Burrow was actually stood up for most of the treatment but just looked to be laid out in comparison to the normal height guys stood around.

Yep a complete turd if you ask me! Wish they'd kept him on last night though as we could easily have had 50+ with him on the field, a penalty machine.

| Just watched SL back chat and when they brought this subject up, the presenter Rod Studd came out with a corker, he reckoned Wilkes was lucky he didn't get arrested for the challenge, did he actually watch the incident because then he said it was elbow in Burrows head, which is wasn't, his arms were at his side with his hands braced in front of him and was a shoulder charge.

And to be honest, Burrow ran towards him. He stood his ground and braced himself.
I don't want to see anyone hit high but there is not a lot Wilkes could have done. Maybe move his arms out of the way but he would have still had an impact.
Studd is a bit of an idiot at times. I actually feel for Stevo in the Backchat programmes. Sometimes I think he should just stand up and stick one on him.

When you watched it back at full speed, Wikes was also committed to the hit and no way could he have avoided him.
He was a prize pillock this episode, talked a lot of a crap and got up the other guys noses on the show. i tell you if you were a Bradford fan watching that show today you'd want to knock him out.

Positively Wigan-esque in your myopic comparison of the 2 events. Of course Webb's was a deliberate elbow to the face whereas Wilkes was a victim of Rob Burrow's diminutive stature, the poor lad!
Still you've a long way to go to overtake the Goons. Checkout their 'Ryan Hudson is a dirty drug cheat whereas Gareth Hock was just chilling' posts.
I don't think too many Leeds fans are too upset with Webbys ban to be honest. We did take him off anyway.
Fair play to Wakey on the night you were the better side.

Cos his arms made contact with Burrow's head?

%75 of challenges on Burrow make contact with his head at some point, the reasons are obvious. Ban every player that does this and most will be struggling to field 13 players the week after. If he runs straight at a big man he's gonna go down like a sack of tatties, simple !

| Webb had his elbow raised in an attempted 'tackle'. Wilkes had his arms accross his chest protecting the ball against a guy thats 5 ft tall. Totally different

| a bit shocked that wilkes got a ban to be honest, i'm also shocked (given the nature of the incident - late, high, forearm/elbow and his past record) that webb only got two!

| Webb actually jumped in the air and put his elbow in into kirkmonds chin, You could argue that it was off the ball too as kirkmond had already kicked the ball
Could have easily being a sending off
I think the two match ban is spot on, kirkmond did very well to get up and play on
