Not sure why but we have gone into our shell last 2 games trying to ride it out and it's cost us. Our away form and the rugby we have played has been fantastic but feel we have let ourselves down a tad in last 2 weeks. Just hope it's a lesson about pressure rugby at end of season and not coach or coaches changing our mindset on how we manage the game.

I think we've played the right brand of rugby in trying to control the game. It's just that we've come up against two teams who have had far more experience of playing it.

Maybe the mindset of game management is something we think about and learn from when it comes to player recruitment for 2018, so that we will be better for it in years to come

We should have won we broke the line more times than hull did and it was plain to see throwing the ball about they couldn't handle them 2nd half we play one up rugby until death and we decide to throw it about.

Hope so but a little part of me thinks Kear may have changed some of the things Chester was doing well but hope am wrong

Cant understand why we went for drop goal a draw wouldnt of done much for us anyway we still had 3 tackles left.think game managment is the one thing that let us down all season and it was evident tonight.that say bentham certainley helped hull

Nothing to do with the wrong brand. Hull had a bad first half. A side full of very big and skilful players were able to rectify it and put us on the back foot. The Ellis try was always going to come because they had started to control the ball and play as well as we had been, and their greater strength and skill won out in the end.

An excellent season and missed out by a whisker.

A draw would have put as above Wigan if Cas beat them tomorrow by more than ten points or so, and a win over Wigan would have put us third if Hull lost.

But it still wouldnt of put things in our own hands

If it had gone over, I'd have been quite optimistic going into next weekend, rather than berating them for not carrying on and possibility coming away with nothing.

He played the odds and went for the safer bet and came up short. I've no criticism of that. If he'd played for a try and we hadn't scored, people would have queried the decision not to go for the one point because it would have put us in with a greater chance of making the top four. He can't win either way.

Half time told in both games. We came back out with stick it up your jumpers, play safe. Sts & Hull both regrouped came back faster cut out their errors, exploited ours.

Just come on to this site & amazed we havent had somebody on saying that Finny should be burned at the stake, after last weeks comments from the keyboard warriors. We competed brilliantly for the full 80 minutes tonight and even though we came out on top in the penalty count 5 to 4 . I did think that the 50/50 calls favoured Hull, and when Shaul got 10 mins I did think that Watts could have been shown yellow for deliberate contact with one of our players ( Arona ?)

Phenomenal effort from the boys tonight from 1 to 17 (especially Grix, who was outstanding).

To get back to within a point with all that had gone against us (every 50/50 call went to FC) was magnificent.

absolutely gutted two weeks on the bounce. Better team in both games yet come away with nothing each time. There's nothing quite like a game of rugby league just a shame we were on the wrong end of the result. Massive achievement and still not over although out of our hands. Still got a feeling deep down it will go down to the last game and we will beat them at home. Going to bed gutted but still not over.

Not the wrong brand of rugby, just a team with no real experience of knock-out rugby trying to learn how to play knock-out rugby. This season is (and probably always has been) a season to early for a proper push into the finals. However, this experience of being involved in tight low scoring games will help the team develop for next year, they will get there, just not yet it seems

You've got to hand it to the guys, they don't leave anything out there and you have to be proud of their efforts. What they lack is a little knowhow and the ability on how to win these big games at this stage, we keep coming up just short. We just need that little extra composure at crucial times and who knows what could happen moving forward.

Every man from one to seventeen left it all out on that pitch tonight. We've come a long way this year, many thought we would be relegation fodder but to be around the top four or five is an outstanding achievement given our starting point at the end of 2015.
Extremely proud of the lads tonight, they gave everything for the cause.
