Having seen some of the results and performances from all teams recently, the title is quite clearly up for grabs. If Rooney can come back and hit top form pretty quickly then its very much there for Nited to grab hold of.

You've clearly not seen much of Ben Foster then, the guy's hardly had a bad game for Birmingham since he signed. To claim he's useless just proves you've probably never seen him and make claims off the back of an England game.

Foster played well today (although Kalou should have made him look a fool in the opening minutes but instead poked the ball wide).

It looks intersting so far this season as you can't predict the results as such but with Arsenal soft at the back,Spurs with one eye on Europe(good result today mind), Chelsea shooting themselves in the foot over Wilkins i think the title will go to a ordinary looking Man United this season

It's our 1st game with new owners tomorrow against the Villa.Not sure what to think about a company buying us just to raise their profile but they've promised more investment in players than the Jack Walker trust gave us for the last few years (not that they'd have to spend much to invest more than the trust have since Jack died).There would be no point in buying us to raise profile if we're in the championship next season.

I've got no idea what's going on.

Just seems stupid to me that the board/RA would be replacing the assistant manager at this point in the season when we're top of the league and strolling through the CL group stages.

If Ancelotti had wanted his own man brought in I could've given a toss if Wilkins was sacked, but for the club to just sack him and replace him with that nobody is just ridiculous. Then in this weeks press conference CA said that Clement would be next to him on the bench, but Emallo (?) sat next to him during the match.

Yeah, but he sort of 'only punches'. It's not like he just punches when he struggles, he punches when it's easy and he's forever flying out for the punch. It's a good tactic that can work well when done correctly, but, like Reina early on in his LFC career, it can be overdone to the point where teams will expose it easily. Just don't think Akinfeev is the type of 'keeper to lead a defence in England, he's a great shot stopper, but his all-round goalkeeping isn't up to the levels you'd want from a 'keeper in England. Could become great, but I'd be surprised if Fergie would have such patience without VDS' experience to rely on.

I'd be livid if one of my players had that attitude. Complete lack of respect for the club and fans.

I can't believe Utd are joint top of the league considering how poorly we have been playing. It could be argued that it bodes well for Utd that they can be top and inbeaten whilst playing poorly and missing players but at some stage we have to drastically improve our form. The return of Rooney will be highlighted as a possible pivotal moment but we will have to see, I think we are missing Valencia and we won't have him back until Jan/Feb.

TBH I don't see why. As long as the player puts in the effort to perform while he is playing for my club I couldn't really care if they have other ambitions.

Being able to sell players on suits Wigan. They'd be delighted to sell on a player to a MU/Citeh/Chelsea every year as long as it didn't effect their stay in the PL. Why would any Wigan fan think that a French player would want to stay at Wigan when there are obviously bigger and better clubs for them to aim for?

I can't believe how quickly 2nd place becomes joint top when United are 2nd.

Speaking to Latics fans they say that the lad gives his all on the field. He may well think Latics are just a stepping stone, but I think that's something he should keep to himself.
