| Well the Shrews have been shocking lately, got the win today but still not playing well. Bradford away next too, think we could be in for a beating.

| You'll probably dominate for 85 minutes, have the lions share of possession, yet somehow we'll come away with a 1-0 win or cling on for a draw. That's how games at VP usually go these days.
How we won 4-0 today I have absolutely no idea, but it was refreshing to see a bit of confident attacking play at 2-0 up.

Even though we won four nil against Morecambe today we still look unconvincing at times, and still need to improve if we want to go up. It's a big game for us so hopefully we will win with us being at home and given you're poor away record. However as a Bradford City fan I've got used to the fact that home games are never straight forward affairs and I think it will probably end up being a draw.

| I didn't realise that unconvincing 4-0 wins existed before yesterday.
We certainly can't afford to play like that against Shrewsbury, we gave Morecambe at least three free headers in the box and they'll punish defending like that, how we have kept 3 clean sheets in a row is beyond me.
I'll be interested to see which system we use, to say 4-3-3 didn't work after we won 4-0 seems odd, but I'm not that sure the players were comfortable in it, on a more positive note Paul McLaren seems to be coming into his own a bit more and having more of a positive impact on the game, and Luke O'Brien continues to impress - well deserving of his nomination for L2 player of the month for December - however MOTM yesterday for me had to be Nicky Law who was superb, hopefully we can keep him until at least the end of the season.

| Well chuffed to finally break my Brentford jinx and see us win a game, 2-0 victory over poor old Bournemouth on Boxing Day. Our second position is incredibly flattering given some of our displays this season - its founded on being steady and unspectacular at the back, but we still lack a real creative spark in midfield. Marcus Bean works his socks off but there's still a reliance on ugly long ball football when we always look far more dangerous keeping it on the floor and getting it out to Sam Wood and Marvin Williams on the flanks, who are very skilfull. Wood is keeping Glenn Poole out of the team at the moment, and Charlie McDonald is proving a top acquisition. Chesterfield next for us.

Even though you did mug us on the day Brentford are actually one of the better sides I've seen us play this season, it's not saying much as this division is very average this year IMO but if they play like that for the majority of the season then I think you'll definitely be in with a shout of a top 3 finish.

Defence is good. 10 clean sheets this season. I can't really complain about the rest I think its mainly just that our brand of football isn't very attractive. But then, in the UK below the Prem, what is? There's Doncaster and thats about it!

| Notts County decided to charge 5 quid for the home fans, and 20 for the away fans against Rotherham, so all the Millers fans went into the home stands, and got moved at 1/2 time incase something kicked off

Very frustrating from our point of view, after the first five minutes we totally dominated the play in the first half, hit the woodwork a couple of times and missed a couple of decent chances.
Again I'd say we were the better team in the second half, though our final ball wasn't there and we didn't create too many good chances. As the game went on I was half expecting Shrewsbury to nick one late on but I don't really recall you having any clearcut effort on goal and I think you were happy to take a point, both sides should (IMO) have had penalties too.
Personally I think we'll come to regret not winning today, for me it was the first really important "promotion" game of the season, we played some good fluid stuff at times, but it is alarming that we haven't scored in 3 of the last 4 games, notwithstanding the fact we haven't conceded a goal in any of them.
Shrews' looked well organised and obviously are dangerous up front but, today at least, didn't seem to have too much of a supply line - how much of that was down to the way we played I don't know, I thought your right back (Moss?) was superb, his timing in the challenge when up against Daley was first class.

| Yeah I listened on the radio. Got a similar impression to what you gave me. Bradford had more chances but we sporadically threatened. Im happy with the point really considering our away form is shocking.
Hope we can pull in some new faces, apparently we bid for Liam Hatch but we need someone with pace really. That jamie ward was on our radar apparently but we wont be able to afford him i doubt.

I think Barnsley have put in a bid for Ward. A few of our fans in dreamland reckon we should be after him! I think his sights are set alot higher than that.

It will be interesting to see who we do go after, if what I've been told about Thorne's back (it's totally screwed) is true then he will only be able to play a bit part for the rest of the season at best, and we do need someone else to knock the goals in because, for all his recent improvement, Conlon isn't going to score enough to compliment what Boulding does.
There are strong rumours that we are in for Andy Bishop but I can't see that either, I'm sure he could do better than League 2 and won't come cheap anyway.

Barnsley bid £400K for Ward, but couldn't agree personal terms so the deal is off. Can't see him going to Bradford if that's the case.

The Bishop rumours are a bit more feasible, but I still can't quite see it. Nobody seems to have a clue if his contract expires in the summer or not. But we do need a striker in the Bishop/Ward mould IMO (i.e. a nuisance with a bit of pace!) but finding an affordable one is a tricky business.

We may have to do what Chesterfield and Bury did and actually have a look at a lower division and find someone with potential who may be available for cheap. The problem with this is that the scouting needs to be good and which would take longer than we have in the Januray window. perhaps we'd be best looking for a loan stiker from a championship club until the end of the season.

In fairness, Bradford is a major sprawling metropolis within an important Conurbation and are competing against tiny old mill towns like Bury and Rochdale. They should be by and large well above most other crowds in League 2
