Can't believe Kite Wood is 7/4 V Sans Frontieres 9/2 even without Dangerous Midge, Sans could really be a very very good horse and could progress even more from that last run, got to respect Kite Wood and the others but 7/4 is silly [size=50watch it romp home[/size

Kite Wood won this race with a lot to spare last year and was made favourite for the Leger due to his style of win. Was against better rivals that day and I think with the rain coming it'll be another flying dismount Saturday to follow last week. Carries a stone more today but taking into account the opposition and he is on his favoured ground I don't see that as a problem. Will be having a nice little bet on Kite Wood. Little the appropriate word, was only a tenner.

I like Zaidan but not sure about this Native Khan, could be anything, so inclined to leave that one alone - along with the Hungerford. No future Paco Boy in the line-up and looks very open. Got a fiver on Ouqba.

In the 2.00 at Newbury this will be the softest ground any of them have faced. Zaidan and Native Khan top the betting by a mile, but who knows if they will go on the surface.


Bets today currently Kite Wood and Bated Breath, going to see what else looks like going in. Might take Tajneed as Pricewise is in belting form of late, try and find one more for a lucky15.

I like Classic Punch in the 4.30 at Newmarket. In this 5 runner field, he could easily dictate from the front again on a track he loves - the soft ground could make it hard to peg him back as well.

The only thing worries me for Sans Frontieres is the ground, its a Group 1 horse and Noseda knows it.

That was why I avoided the race, certainly expected him to be placed - must be the ground.

Aye, didn't quite realise how handy his 3y-o form read until today.

My bets for today are Kite Wood in a single, Ouqba in a single, and Tajneed, Bated Breath, Classic Punch and Ouqba in a L15.

Really like Ouqba and now the race has lost a few he looks to have a good chance.

Of the above I certainly couldn't put anyone off Kite Wood and Ouqba.

TBH I'd love to see Traffic Guard (4.30 Newmarket) register an overdue success.

San Frontieres was excellent. Kite Wood weakened again and was eased.

SF drifted into Laheb but won't affect the result.

Kite Wood awful ... beaten fully 3 furlongs out after Suroor had said pre-race that there were no excuses today.

Weakened when asked to go for home - must be something a miss. He obviously likes the ground and the course.

Noseda just said he didn't think SF had much of a chance of handling the ground. One thing learned today - don't listen to Jeremy Noseda.

Cost them millions when they bought it out of the Jarvis yard.

About time it paid me third time I have backed it this year.

Goldikova 4/6 will probs win tomorrow but I have been crap at picking low odds horses lately so don't really want to get involved at that price, Paco Boy 5/2 ran it real close last time but worried about the very soft ground so that leads to me to Makfi 17/2 could be the one @ E/W value seems to have been forgotten about after the flop in the St James's Palace Stakes (throat infection) I still think this is one top class horse that Carney spotted and that 2,000 Guineas win was no fluke.

Not keen on Goldikova at 7f. She ran in a 7f race last October and I had a few grand on, only to see the trip was evidently too short and she easily got beat going for the line.

Paco Boy was regarded as a '7f horse' for ages, until he won at a mile despite excellent efforts in defeat. If he is ever going to beat the wonder-mare, this is his day.

I would be very interested in Paco Boy as Hughes nearly did the mare last last but gave it just ahead start but I have read today "particularly as the ground will be to his advantage" and also "I don't want it too soft".
