Just the same as what Fergie was spouting before their game against Liverpool in September. Only difference is, we won't get the penalty.
But there will definitely be a red card given.

I assume by that comment you mean a decision against your own team, because if you mean football in general then you are talking out of your .
But I believe you are talking ****, because most of the Blues***** that I know still believe that Collina's decision against Ferguson in '05 is probably the most scandalous piece of refereeing against Everton.

| Quote ="Saddened!"Not always true. Everton have been on the receiving end of some absolutely horrendous/borderline corrupt refereeing in the derby, especially at Goodison. I've just watched the 07/08 derby at Goodison on ESPN Classic. Liverpool were absolutely shocking but won with two penalties. Everton had two absolute stonewall penalties turned down including one in the final passage of play where Carragher dragged Lescott to the floor. Then you've got the Rodwell red card, which is still the most scandalous piece of refereeing I've ever seen.
I'm just waiting to see who will take Dirk Kuyt's role of winning derbies despite being utterly rubbish. I had Borini penned in for it, but he's not even playing.'"
The worst refereeing I've seen still remains the Kyrgiakos red card. Fellaini treats Soto's leg like a skateboard, but the ref completely ignores it and sends Soto off.
You can harp on about referees all you want, but when you play the way you have done throughout so many derbies, you get what you deserve. I still remember the DVDs being produced of your lot getting a 0-0 at Anfield, with Alan Stubbs getting the Sky MOTM. Moyes brought you to Anfield and sat you in the box for 90 minutes, you deserve red cards and no penalty calls playing like that.
I personally don't think there will be a winner, has draw written all over it for me, only a very early goal could change that IMO.

I enjoy watching Being Liverpool but feel sorry for Rodgers. He's never going to look good on that sort of programme. Clearly his strengths are technical & tactical rather than motivational. But that sort of programme will always focus on the team talks rather than anything he does on the training ground. It gives a very unbalanced picture of his ability. He must absolutely hate whoever decided to agree to the programme.

I can't bring myself to watch it, but I don't have any sympathy for Rodgers for making himself look foolish.
It's one thing Alex Ferguson trying to pull off the envelope trick after his side have won the league. It would have possibly focussed the minds of some players who were getting ahead of themselves. But to do it to this Liverpool side, and to do it when the TV cameras are rolling and you'll be exposed really quickly? That's just really, really stupid.
And as for his strengths being technical and tactical, the table doesn't suggest that. The table suggests Liverpool have made a mistake and promoted a novice too quickly beyond his ability.

Nah, the table doesn't really tell the true story.
1) Our squad isn't that strong, regardless of how good Rodgers is, we have one recognised forward who isn't the best scorer and we have a few players that aren't good enough and are essentially mistakes from previous regimes. (Downing, Carroll out on loan, Joe Cole)
2) As I keep telling people, we've played pretty well all season so far, but our results match the depth of our squad rather than our manager's ability IMO. The young lads he's brought in will be exceptional players, but they are still very young and it shows how desperate we are to be relying on three teenagers every week.
For me, Rodgers has done pretty well since coming here. A few results have 'got away' from us when they shouldn't have, but the performances have been there, it's only a matter of time before they don't get away from us and we start to win regularly. He'll be given that time, I just hope he can spend well in January as we're desperate for a forward or two. Ideally we'd get Lucas back, then we'd be able to move Gerrard out wide more and play Allen, Sahin and Lucas in midfield.

| Quote Poll recalled the Arsenal game against Chelsea in 2004 when Thierry Henry asked for permission to take a free-kick quickly, then promptly curled it into the goal while Petr Cech was still lining up his defensive wall. Poll remembered the fury of John Terry and José Mourinho and seemed quite happy with the outrage it had caused. "Lovely" was the word he used.'"
If Henry wanted permission to take a quick free kick Poll was right to give it. But Poll didn't do just that. He also instructed Eidur Gudjonsen out of the way to enable Henry to do it.

After 8 games this season, you've got 9 points. You had 14 points after 8 games last season.

Using Swansea is a pretty lame attempt at making a point, LGJM. They're in their second season in the league now, they've signed different players and they aren't the side adjusting from the Championship to the Premier League any more.
Last season we arguably had greater squad depth than we do now. Our 'squad' is weaker now, but we'll be better for it in the medium to long term future. IMO, Rodgers is the right man to manage Liverpool in the current situation we're in. We're not a CL side any more, we're a side still reeling from the mistakes of the past, we have some good players and some good young players but we don't have enough of them. IMO, the type of football and the type of player Rodgers likes is ideal for where we're at at the moment, we're not going to get into Europe, so bringing in a defensive, almost one-dimensional 'results-first' manager isn't what we need right now as even with a few more wins or draws, we aren't going to finish in the top 4. IMO, Rodgers' 'brand' of football is the right one for where we're at right now, even if we don't get the expected results.

Lino bottled it. But then again, the officials always do in derby games.
Everton should have won that game. Now all they have to show for it is to jack off in delight that a perfectly legitimate goal was cancelled out that would have seen them come away with nothing.

That's the thing, Everton should have won that easily, but now it just turns into some sort of moral victory (need ANY victory at the moment i suppose ) for Liverpool as they were much out-played but didn't get beat. Didn't see any of this AMAZING football from Liverpool that gets talked about daily on here either though. Nice celebration from Suarez too, along with his assault on Distin's ankle (should have been sent off, cancels out the onside 'goal')

Where does the 'again' come into it? Where else have you been robbed? It clearly wasn't offside, but it would be hard to argue that Coates didn't foul Jagielka for the knock back. Everton were due that decision after having so many derbies taken out of their hands by refereeing mistakes in the past.
It was a cracking game in entertainment terms if not quality. Everton bossed the first half after Liverpool scored their goals. The telling contribution in the match was Suarez. But not for his assist, goal or the non-winner at the end, but his foul on Mirallas. He was having the better of Wisdom and had he stayed on I'd have fancied Everton to win. Frustrating for Everton today, the game was a week early for Fellaini to contribute much and the threat we had down the left was stopped when Mirallas departed. We didn't really create anything but half chances from crosses in the second half. So much inconsistency from the referees again, Pienaar was banned from this game for not touching the QPR player last week. Sterling in the first half, after being booked, kicks Baines in a very similar position and isn't sent off.

Unlike Rodgers who would just deny it was a dive in the first place, Moyes gave Neville a telling off at half time and he came out after the game and owned up to his mistake. Daft thing was, had he not dived he would have got a free kick for it.

Pretty much spot on.....Mirallas stays on and Everton, in all likelihood, win, because he was running rings round that Wisdom, who was the dodgiest of some very dodgy defenders on display today.
Problem with the game today was that you get fans from both sides claiming if's and but's.....Liverpool rightly point to the disallowed goal, but similarly Everton can easily claim Suarez shouldn't have been there to apply the finish, because his fouls on Mirallas and Distin (both looked like deliberate attempts to take a player out of the game) were worthy of 2 yellows.
Sad thing is about Suarez is that he is a very, very good player, but he's just not a very nice individual....He's the old fashioned South American - great skill, but a horrible nasty streak. I think he would be sensational at a big club in Spain, because he would be more likely to get away with his more 'Latin' part of his game, which isn't looked upon kindly over here.

We've had quite a few calls go against us this season, go through some of the pages on here if you want a few examples. How did Coates foul Jagielka? He jumped up nice and high and cleanly won the ball, his arms came on to Jagielka on his way down, but Jagielka wasn't getting that ball, nor was he denied the chance to get it. The call was a joke and you trying to defend it as a mythical foul shows just how embarrassing you are.
Not sure what foul you're talkng about? When Mirallas was injured, it looked like he'd just pulled something after he crossed the ball. I don't remember seeing him tackled or anything.
Indeed, inconsistency is a joke. Sterling's original booking was a joke, did his wrist stroke Baines' ribs? The second challenge wasn't a yellow card either, just a standard foul but your lust to see a player of ours get a red is what made you think it was a second yellow. I didn't see what Pienaar was done for but Sterling didn't deserve to walk today. The only Liverpool player who deserved anything was Suarez for his late foot, a yellow was about right depending on how you viewed the malice.
The game as a whole was quite odd. Everton were the home side so were always going to have better spells. We were going well at 2-0 but the inexperience of the team came through and we let it slip. The goal at the end wouldn't have been undeserved, but a draw was probably fair.
As for the cretin saying where was the great quality football, Everton chased us off the park today, it was always going to be an open, scrappy game, every derby is.

He's just a grub. A horrible individual who lets his club's history down with his antics. The one on Distin was horrible, they were debating intent on the commentary, but he knew what he was doing. As cynical as it gets.
What was he up to with the coin as well? He picks it up, but instead of giving it to the ref or the police if he wants to make something of it, he stuffs it into his boot? I half expected him to whip it out and ping it back into the crowd when he celebrated the winner.
