The WEP reporting both are in talks over new deals at the club. It would be a massive boost to get both over the line. If we do then our backline is sorted for the long term with guys like Tomkins, Burgess and Gildart already tied down.

It gets wearing, all the one-way traffic we seem to hear about these days, as though SL can only ever be the start of an athlete's career in the 21st century.

I've no doubt George will go 'somewhere' eventually - the salary cap will ensure that. But it'd be nice if we could keep him while he's still young and energised.

When it was first announced that Wigan were signing Escare there were a lot of, shall we say, raised eyebrows, but if ever a player has shown that he wants to take a second chance offered...

The Escare signing looks like it could end up being 'up there' with George Carmont under IL.

Williams signing will probably be in line with Sam Tomkins signing a long term deal to get us big money from an NRL side. I don't imagine it means he will stay any longer than 2018

If he'd gone to Wire, he would have kissed his future big NRL signing away.

Starting to wonder if the 'Williams to Wire' story was just leverage. Very rare these days for big names to travel between rival SL clubs.

I think we all accept at some point Williams will give the NRL a go just think though at the rate he's progressing a couple of more years at Wigan he will be more than ready for the trek down under?
