| I went on Sunday and all through the game I found it strange that none of the advertising boards had Stobart on. Surely it wouldn't have been hard to quickly mock up a board or an electric advert. Did anyone else think it was strange or did I miss something? I noticed on the Sky Games it had the Stobart Superleague shield on the Video Ref but again no other ads
I hope this isn't a sign of lack of advertising for Stobart

Stand on a moterway bridge with your school uniform on with a notepad and pencil in your hand, wave at the driver and he will salute you.

| My mate spoke to the press guy at the RFL and he said Stobart aren't bothered about having their logo on things like the post protectors, corner flags, balls etc because they got this deal basically for free and are happy to leave it as the lorrys and nothing else........great stuff! Thats why we've got Engage post pads still, no sponsors on ref kits and are using balls from the world club challenge.
I did read today the RFL have signed a deal with Heinz Big Soup to sponsor the balls and MOM awards so maybe all those sort of things will be done seperately.
Clubs should have to use their own team coloured post pads imo though. To be giving Engage free sponsorship via that means is crazy.

| I guess this is what happens when a sponsorship deal is signed 3 weeks before the start of the season. We need things like sponsors on the post pads etc, because it's lost revenue otherwise. I hope we're still getting money from engage for carrying on advertising them, although knowing the RFL, we probably aren't...

| The way our game has gone about this whole sponsorship issue makes us look tin pot. You take skys viewing figures, attendance growth figures and sell it to companys and they actually pay us to sponsor parts of our sport. Its not rocket science, i dont know what the RFL have actually been doing because this should of all been in place well before now.
They have said the Stobart deal allows us to have other sponsorship partners, well where the f**k are they? We are waiting.

Why would engage still be paying?
engage are doing the RFL a favour.

How so? By providing the post protectors? I'm sure clubs have their own.

Clubs will have been provided with the engage ones some time ago. They've not been provided with new ones so why should they buy their own. Keep using the engage ones until someone gives them some new ones.
A fuss about nothing.

I see what you mean, but I just think it sends out the wrong message. We've supposed to have dropped engage in favour of Stobart, so it seems strange that their name is still plastered everywhere.

Couldn't agree more. The branded stuff for Stobart clearly hasn't come through yet, but it will.
I'm not sure whether it will be Stobart pitch/posts branding etc. if this wasn't part of the Stobart deal then the RFL have done well as they can now get cash from secondary sponsors for things like this and the ref sponsorship.
It would have been nice if everything could have been sorted for Rd 1, but the fact is that it does actually physically take time for these things to be produced.
People should calm down and just give them a few weeks.
Nothing to see here.

Heinz are a massive company so a good sponsor but why do we need to have the 'big soup'? Sounds tacky. Should be just 'Heinz' but I suppose they are trying to push a particular product than all "57" varieties.
