Just reading his book - for once it sounds like the player has had a significant input in the writing of their book, it's not a bad read at all. Loved his comment about Tony Smith when he took over as GB coach

Just watched this, terry was really honnest imo, said he cheated and held his hands up, looked very regretful .

was cringeworthy to watch , he answered every question with the same answer .

Carney did a cracking job of rescuing it , although you could tell he just wanted to say "Terry just answer the f4cking question"

I've often said that part of a clubs education programme should be to teach players how to deal with t.v and press interviews.

O'Connor gets on my nerves with his "He done this and he done good" and "Them players". It's appalling! Brian Carney is a breath of fresh air.
I don't expect perfection from a live broadcast but I do want to listen to proper English. It's just cringeworthy.

Is it just me - but full marks to Terry for doing "supermen" last night.

The whole programme was just about drugs, admitted he was wrong and no-one should follow what he did.

BUT come on he was one of the finest hookers we've ever had (next to Martin Dermott for me), it should have been longer with some emphasis on his illustrious career

I'm with pie eyed tbh. Part of Newton's penance will be to front up to things like that and churn out his evangelical drugs are bad lines, was a good player, as was Dermott btw.

He was a workman like hooker. Never had the tools to dominate or change a game in the way KC and Lowes did.

Sadly for newton, he will be remembered for 4 things and 4 things only. Yelling his eyes out, filling his shorts when Brian Mac lamped him, trying to murder sean long and finally, for being a drug abuser. Not really a load of career highlights that would point to an illustrious career.

The RL should make it a condition of having a Super League licence.

All players should be trained to handle the media.

i would add a 5th one against the ozzies when Moz got sent off he proper wound them up and they targetted him by far the best match he ever had.

If terry newton was really sorry he would name and shame these players and where he got the HGH otherwise he's like all other drug users, a coward, and a name our club shouldnt want to associate itself with. I feel sorry for wakey.

On another note Terry Newton is one of my all time favourite Wigan players, in 2001 to 2004 I thought he was the best 9 in Superleague.

Just because he was caught taking performance enhancing drugs that doesn't cloud my memory of him being a top player for Wigan and a passionate one aswell, everyone makes mistakes.

And therein lies the problem.

some harsh comments about terry IMO he looked ashamed about what he had done. Yes he was abviously told to answer certain questions in a certain way ,hence the same answers . For me he was a player that was wigan through and though, whos heart was here and always will be. I for one was sorry to see him go under agent millward.
