All of which are cities, excepting Twickenham which has probably got around probs with one of the grounds being a national stadium (and RU bias ofc). But if you think there is any sense in building another stadium in Wigan when neither team can fill the one we already have on a regular basis, get your hand in your pocket, get the plans passed through, and get another stadium built.... Get back in the real world for goodness sake.

IL and his administration have been slagged off for everything under the sun since taking over. Bit by bit, they've clawed their reputations back with various astute moves. But now they're finally the brunt of a criticism I doubt even Messrs. Lenagan, Hogan, Maguire, Wane etc, all working together 24/7, will be able to correct - those lousy barstewards have still not given us a stadium to outshine the DW!

I was merely speculating as to whether it can be done (if finances allowed) with regards to planning permission. I genuinely don't know. I'd like to find out though in the unlikely event of me winning the Euro millions (extremely unlikely though considering I never buy a ticket).

A quick look on Wigan council's website would show that there is no such planning regulation. Quite the opposite really in that it is planning policy to support and facilitate sport and leisure developments.

As for Lenegan being in the top 50 richest men in Britain then I'm sorry you are miles off. I would imagine that he is outside the top 500, certainly a long way behind Whelan.

I make no claims to know anything about planning regulations, etc, but I'd be amazed if Wigan Council would ever sign off on another sizeable stadium in this part of the borough.

Apart from anything else, they're looking to the future. Latics' Premiership adventure can not last forever, and if they get relegated you can guarantee their crowds will dwindle significantly. The town of Wigan would look ridiculous if it had a stadium like the DW, which was only host to a lower league footie team playing half the year to crowds of about 8,000.

And before any Latics fans get peeved, I'm not saying this WILL happen, just that it COULD happen - and the mere possibility is bound to be a consideration.

I'm sure we all trained hard as amatuers, music to my ears too. No matter have much talent you have, a fitter bloke will cause you probs as you tire. the fitter the better for me. It is what HAS to be expected. Come on guys, put in the hard hours so we can all have a great season next year. Non of the other teams are standing still. Give em hell!!!
