On the Gleeson roumours, Wigan chairman Ian Lenagan said: "There will be a comment when we have something to say."

That to me sounds like the sacking may not be done and dusted. Is it possible he has been called to a disciplinary next week and that is why the club are not making any comment?

If Gleeson was already sacked why wouldnt they make it public - only thing I can think of is maybe Gleeson has asked for an appeal?

My lad was out last night around Wigan and saw some of the Wigan lads. He asked about Gleeson and all the players were tight lipped. However, talking to George Carmont he says this is his last season for Wigan with Charnley replacing him for next year.

Suppose all these rumours are true about Mr Gleeson. Would we replace him? We have quota space and he won't be on pittance so a fair chunk of cap space or would we just use Tomkins, Marsh and Charnley there?

It depends who's available, if theres no-one of high quality available then we're better off sticking with Marsh/Charnley/Pryce/Tomkins possibly even Goulding when Richards returns.

I don't think there would anybody available over here so it would have to be from overseas if someone was to come in.

Probably best to stick with the young uns for the time being.

I'd have Charnley straight in, but if all else fails than you could always go with Goulding at centre when Richards is fit again.

We still have options, at least we know that Marsh, Charnley + Goulding could all alternate that position.

Looks like our number 1 recruitment priority for 2012 is going to be a world class centre. There's no way we can go with Charnley and Marsh as our starting centres next season.

Assuming that a centre spot becomes available because a player has their contract terminated, does that actually free up their salary for salary cap purposes? I've a feeling it counts for the season.
