Yet earlier we had someone claiming that he's such a mate of Noble's that he'd never consider replacing him (and all spoken with great authority and lashings of venom). Today we have the same people going mad on this message board and others, because we might - MIGHT - be replacing Goulding with a current GB centre. Yet the same people in the past have gone mad because we haven't signed players who've got any quality.
It's bewildering and frankly bloody annoying. I can only hope IL understands that, at times, this message board is nothing more than a sounding-off shop for a relatively small number of Wigan-mad empty vessels (and I include myself in that, for what it's worth).'"

I am sure he knows that or we would have had 10 new coaches by now and a complete new team he is not daft and i am sure he understands the fans frustrations at times |

| I've heard another rumour in regards to Gleeson. (Of numerous sources, so the one that reads this board needn't worry  )
Gleeson to French Rugby Union in also on the cards.
Bare in mind it's another RUMOUR. |

The reply re SBW and him not getting a work permit/visa for the UK.
He has a work permit for the EU from the French and can therefore work in any EU country.
The same applied to Dobson, if he'd applied for a UK work permit/visa he wouldn't have got one as he'd not played enough first grade games in the NRL. As he had a French issued work permit for the EU he was OK to play here.
Hence we were able to sign him.
If SBW's visa is still valid then he could play for anyone in the UK.

Money seems to talk when it comes to SBW.
He already knocked back a huge offer from Saints in 2004 and after all the troubles he had with Canterbury he will have probably regretted missing out on that deal. If SBW is willing to take up a huge offer playing Rugby Union in France, I'm sure he'd be just as tempted to play Rugby League in England should the money be right.
His choices are limited anyway. I seriously doubt him going back to the NRL in the near future which means his only options are Super League and Rugby Union. If we get rid of Phil Bailey, then that's a second rower, quota spot plus over £100,000 free'd from the cap hence why it wouldn't suprise me at all if we went for SBW, but only for 2010.

transfer fees dont count on the cap, and if anyone believes we only have £20-30 k left on the cap they are gulable to say the least. There is no way on earth IL will reveal in a public forum the real amout of money we have left to spend.
regarding gleeson, would welcome him with open arms, but not at the expense of goulding, who as many have said on here needs ntime and first team games, think a loan spell would do him a power of good |
