How many of those have been like his try last night where he has been handed them on a plate? Tries where he gets the ball in plenty of space, where he doesnt need beat anyone and just dive over from 5 yards out. Has he actually created any himself or beat a man? At a guess I would say all of them or maybe he has put down a grubber as well. You seem great at spouting off meaningless statistics which dont actually prove anything.

We did, but I also discussed in Wigan after the game till 3 in the morning with a Bunch of Noble Haters and you know what the general feeling was???

| He is a work in progress i think most sensible posters accept that, to say he is a failure or a success at this stage would be very niave and a bit stupid in truth.
Its funny how other clubs can get away with signing projects but Wigan get slammed for it.

That sums it up well. I certainly would like to see him have an extended run in the side at some stage but if there are no injuries its difficult to forsee when that might happen - even if you look to 2010.

If he does not step up to the plate next year and prove he is worthy of replacing Carmont, then he should and i think will be released. I am sure he is aware of this fact as well.
Despite the trolls, his Wigan career is still well within his hands and righfully so.

I think a lot of people are frustrated with the fact his strike rate could (maybe even should) be a lot higher.
If he had a bit of fire in his belly he would be one hell of a player, bouncing players all over the place, making breaks for fun, a nightmare to handle in the opposition's 20 and scoring at will.
Unfortunately he doesn't have that in him but thats what people expect of him

| Pryce lacks one vital ingredient to make it at the top level - heart, backbone, bollox, whatever you want to call it.
He didn't have it at Bradford and nothing I've seen so far at Wigan suggests he's moved on from there.
It's great scoring a million tries in the reserves, but the step-up to first team is huge, the players aren't 20 and under, the hits are bigger and he needs to use his physical attributes more.

| With the injuries we now have Pryce may well get the run in the first team we feel he needs.
No Smith and Gleeson back may well have Sam at 7 and Gleeson 6 with Tommy going to 9 with Piggy off the bench.
That would leave the centre for Pryce.
Noble said after the match that Pryce started off very well and had a good first half. He felt he tired quickly in the 2nd.
Maybe Noble was going to bring him off at the last 20 but with injuries he couldn't.
I thought he played well and deserves another run out. He could figure regularly if the injuries continue to mount.

Me and thousands of other fans. I'm not one to blindly jump on bandwagons but you've got to admit he hardly looks interested at all. How can anyone improve at anything without putting in hard work? God knows what he's like in training when he doesn't have everyone on his back to do some work. I'm not saying he doesn't have the talent or that he's fighting fit, but he just doesn't look bothered. I wish I could put Ainscough's heart in that body.
As for the name calling, don't lump me in with the clowns in the stands who look for someone to blame every week, because they irritate me on match day too.

The answer to that is very simple. The person who judges him on his appearances in the first team, where it counts, not playing against junior players in the reserves which I am sure your "How many times have you seen Karl Pryce play this season ." is based on.
In other words you claiming some profound incite into the ultimate value of players based on how well they go in the reserves is nonsense.
I have no axe to grind v KP on Friday but I do think your "I know best because I watch the reserves" opinion is worthless.

Pryce might come good yet? as for name calling from AJ I would just ignore as both AJ and his side kick RHJ are well known for it.

| Quote ="Jukesays"Was thinking of starting a "Scapegoat of the week" Thread!!!!!!!
You don't have to be a genius to work out that since they can't blame Mathers, Roberts is proving that he is the better winger ATM over Ainscough, Piggy's doing quite well, Bailey's doing nothing different than he has always done but now is being appreciated for the player he always was and they've finally given up on Crucifying O'Loughlin then "Who Else" are they going to have a pop at!!!!
Just a shame BN wasn't interviewed and said "Wigan" instead of "We" and then he could have been crucified instead of Pryce!
Did well last night Pryce and for the love of God I can't understand why Some fans (I nearly used the term Idiot fans as that is how frustrated I am with the loud mouthed Idiot's 3 rows behind me who over the last 12 weeks have crucifed Mathers, then Riddell and now Pryce in a foul mouthed abusive way) want certain players to fail?????
It's like they shoot there big mouths off and blame 1 player for a defeat etc and then won't leave him alone until the club kicks him out or the fans turn on him just to prove that they were right!!!!!!!!!
They have a bigger interest in their own Internet or Gameday Ego than actually trying to be constructive about things!!!!!
The Kn0b at the back of me (3-4 weeks ago he spent 80 ins calling Riddell every name under the son and when I pulled him up for swearing in front of kids he swore again when saying he wasn't swearing!!!!!!!!!) started on Pryce 30 seconds into the game last night!!!!

I thought KP did ok with what he was presented with. But your logic is flawed with regard to watching the reserves. Your logic suggests that performing well in the reserves is irrelevant which it is not. Otherwise what would be the point of a reserves setup?

Brian Noble then??
I take it that logic will then flow through to the Who should BN pick in each position throughout the team as He works with them day in day out and his the best placed to make those judgements that you think your better at making through your keyboard Post After Post!
In other words you claiming some profound incite into the ultimate value of players based on how well they go in the reserves is nonsense.
Why? Because his opinions don't always match yours???
Your opinions are nearly always worhtless but you have the right to them and others have the right to disagree.
I believe yours and others "Attitiude" to many things at the club fuels many of the Anti- Noble/Roberts/Riddell etc feelings that run through the many of the fans on here & I don't believe you do it neccesarily for the good of the club.
But Hey, you carry on Dave, I don't know if you realise how much of an opinionated Pompous Know it all you come across as but if that's the way you want to be then fair enough.

Dave,
When I watch the reserves I expect first team squad players to appear to be better than the junior players, both for Wigan and the team they are playing against.
Pryce for all his laid back attitude does.
Sam Tomkins does.
Liam Farrell does.
Ainscough on the other hand doesn't.
From behind your pc you may wish to disagree, but don't try to belittle people who :-
a) disagree with you
b) watch lower grade (and enjoy it) and comment on what they see.
Come down and watch a few games, you may enjoy it, and then feel free to comment on players performances.

You know my opinions on Ainscough, just wondered what your thoughts were on something i have posted on another thread regards his attitude to playing at a lower level?
I feel he does not always enter the field in the right frame of mind for lower team competition. He is a hyped up kind of player to be at his best he needs to be bouncing up and down the sideline barking out the orders etc, from what i have seen in some reserve grade games he seems flat and this is when he fails to perform, i think he fails to sometimes be able to motivate himself for that level of comp, not something i condone but seems to me to be the case.
As someone who has seen him at that level much more than me would be interested to know your thoughts.

Jonh,
There are no problems with his enthusiasm even at reserve level. He makes me smile.
You can hear him shouting from the wing "give it to him, belt him" to his forwards.
He has been playing on the right wing in the reserves, and Wigan being very much a left sided team perhaps doesn't see as much ball.
Yesterday, he did have a poor game, missed a few tackles, let one ball bounce which almost resulted in a try, and threw a shocker of a pass that which resulted in us not scoring a try that would have wrapped up the match.
As a first team squad player, playing at a lower level he should be better than that.
However, on the plus side he took a couple of high kicks and ran the ball in enthusiastically.
He is still an exciting player and will come good, I have no doubt about that, but IMO he is third in line for the wing spot on current form.
