I'm sure you mean well but, seriously? You want us to spend SC on Senior? And what, play him alongside Carmont? (You clearly couldn't play him instead of Carmont because Carmont is the best centre in SL). How would that help our young players?

Centres, good centres aren't exactly ten a penny, we know this as we need another (always have since Gleeson) Carmont is excellent but in truth the jury is still most defo out on Joel and even more so Marsh in the centre position.

KS is still one of the best centres in the league without question, have cover and an expert quality centre to add to our team will only strengthen our backline.
If the price is right it could be a good signing. Don't forget he won't take up a quota spot.

In all honesty for all the positives the is only one real downside-his age, but that shouldn't be the deciding factor in a signing.

It would be dreadful business. The theory that young players somehow learn from playing in the U20's whilst an older player takes up the position they would otherwise be playing is absurd. Senior was clearly slowing down before his serious leg injury and will have to work incredibly hard to come back at that level alone. As a person he's never struck me as a great role model to have around either with his shenanigans on overseas tours. What do you think he could teach our players that our bank of experienced full time coaches cannot?

why would Keith Senior come to Wigan "on the cheap anyway" when he can go to Widnes or Wakefield on a decent salary? What message does it give out to the youngsters coming through that we have signed KS?

They could 'learn' from him whilst being farmed out on dual registration deals.

He's a grade A tool as proved by his ramblings on twitter today.

He along with some of the other Leeds lot were a disgrace at the end of the play off game last season and thats just another small reason as to why i'd add him to my not to sign list.

Some people would make any signing just for the sake of it.

And some people would reject any signing for the sake of it. There's always a bigger picture.

I wouldn't reject sensible signings or signings with some sort of rational behind them but this simply hasn't.

The only reason I could see for signing him would be experience yet we've ensured we've got that in the centres by signing Carmont up. We have 12 months to now bed somebody into that right sided centre position whilst searching the world for Carmonts replacement.

Signing Senior would add little to the side in the short term and create some big problems going forward imo.

So some are saying we should sign a 34 year old to cover a position where we have a 33 year old. That's before we even consider Senior's nosediving form over the last few years.

Acton-lots of potential but who knows how he'll develop it all honestly, going off the development our of youth he's 2-3 seasons away
Marsh-Difficult to see as a centre, possibly just not good enough in this role
Tomkins-week after week people on here scream about how he's never a centre
Carmont-excellent,but will pick up knocks etc

Is adding another top British centre to this so bad? will it really cos big problems? IMO defo not, it will add depth, experience and expertise to a position which is difficult to recruit.

If wigan had been interested in him wouldn't they have gone for him before he signed for Crusaders 3 weeks ago? Probably because he isn't good enough any more.

far more to consider than just age, many top players are over 30.

Trying to replace him and Carmont at the same time(unless your seriously suggesting we gave him a 2 year deal like he had at Crusaders).

It would be a nightmare and not worth the trouble. We can give Charnley a run there(a position I think he'd excel in), continue to play Joel there, give Marsh some more games in the position or sign a younger and better option then Senior.

All those options will set the side up miles better in the long term.

Yes but at the beginning of next season he'll be 35! If it was the same situation 3 or 4 years ago then maybe. He was a shadow of his former self this season and then he picked up a serious, season ending injury. It would be a nothing signing and I'm flabbergasted people are even toying with the idea tbh.

Which its why I also mentioned how poor he's been the last couple of seasons. Well past he sell-by date.

Seriously!! The cru board has well and truly stitched all their players up by not telling them and I feel for them I do but we do not need nor should want to sign Senior, I hope he's Widnes bound but tbh from his twitter I think he'll leave the sport completely and who can blame him
