| Adamson? Griffin? Some of these names seem a little desperate, not of the mentioned would add anything more to the pack.
Chris Hill would do. Actually think Poore looks good.

Hills gone really well & from what I'm told Sam Hopkins at Leigh's attracting a bit of attention. Poore has looked a good buy from what I've seen.
If we were looking for a cost effective Mick Cassidy Adamsons worth a punt. Feels like we're looking at the the more cost effective options at the moment.

Quite right, unless he wanted 'mega dosh', which I cannot imagine he is getting at Hudds.

He never wanted a 'mega dosh' deal. He just wanted to play, and play preferably for Wigan.
I never really saw what SW was getting at last season when he said Fielden has X amount of games to prove himself. After nigh on 2 years out injured he was never ever going to shine in 3/4 games.
From what I've been hearing/reading/seeing Fielden has been playing very well at Huddersfield and has slotted straight into there pack, which reminds me somewhat of the old dominant Bradford pack. It's possible Fielden needs a big pack around him for him to really shine, which he seems to be doing right now.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing sometimes. I wish we'd of kept hold of him for this season TBH, we could of done with an experienced, big and motivated prop forward (thats not to say any of the others aren't big or motivated but you get what I mean).

| Wigan need to stick with what they've got and wait till the right players come up. The key for us moving forward now is not to panic buy and use up cap space on scraps like Luke Adamson, Paul Wood or Darrell Griffin. Develop what we have here at the club, wait till the right players come up and then make a move whilst also having enough in the pot to secure what we already have e.g Harrison Hansen. I've no problem with us getting aggressive in the market and paying a transfer fee to secure the right player e.g Scott Taylor.
I hope the club alter our transfer policy a little bit and stay away from players with a checkered past. We've been stung by Martin Gleeson and Gareth Hock (as talented as both players are) leaving the club at critical times in the season due to off-field issues. I'm not advocating ostracising players from the game, the lessons from Terry Newton need to be learned, but signing players with clear off-field issues is not a road I want to see us go down again. I fully accept the contributions Gleeson made to us winning a trophy and the world-class talents of Hock, but it can't be denied both players have at one time or another left us in limbo.

| Sadly if Gleeson hadn't gone off the deep end with some silly decisions he would still be one of our starting centres IMO.

| Just heard Sam saying on SSN that you "never say never" and there may be a time in the future that he thinks about rugby union.
I still think that will be his destination when he does decide to leave Wigan.

| interview on Sky Sports news
"i might look at it in a few years time, but at the moment i just want to play for England and Wigan"
sorry, no link, but thats interesting.
Pledged his near future to league, but England before Wigan?
Unfortunate use of words, or hidden meaning?

Mentioned it on the rumours thread. I think he'll end up in RU eventually.

| I wonder if Sam stayed because its a World Cup year and any potential move to Yawnion (boring) will be at an additional financial advantage to him should he have a good World Cup. I also think a lot depends on where Wigan finish this year as to whether he stays or goes. Gut feeling for me is that this is the last season for him. That will be a shame as he is probably the most high profile young player we have to help promote te game.

That is possibly a reason but I would say it's more his contract than anything else.

| I think if you think Sam spent more than 0.2 seconds considering the word order of whether to say England or Wigan first you're stepping into paranoia.
England is not what is going to keep Sam in RL, to play a handful of games a year either to thrash teams like France and Wales or lose to the Aussies, whilst he gets booed by his own fans.

| When Sam resigned for Wigan it's clear the contract was funded by not just Wigan and that part of the agreement will have been for him to advertise our struggling international game where possible, especially when given the opportunity to speak on the country's most watched channel.

Wise man, keeping his options open. it would be a terrible shame to lose him though especially as he is becoming very good in his RL media role. His new section on boots 'n all (Sams team) is very good.

I just have this feeling that with Joel having been picked for the England Saxons squad , Sam may have his sights on the England RU World Cup squad ln 2015.

I agree. Daft idea to suggest there is any significance. If anything we should be pleased he sees some value in the International game at all. And no I don't mean because it's going to keep him in RL but simply that we need to improve the profile of international RL and so it's good to see the games top player say he wants to play for England as well as for Wigan.

Own fans don't boo him it was only from after the Headingly match that it was done as a laugh.Warrington fans did not help when they sung "Sweet Chariot" to him love him or hate him if and when he goes he will be a big loss to RL.
