| Quote ="Trainman"In reflection, I haven’t changed my opinion on the high shot. MM must have know he hit Dwyer high, accidentally IMO so picking a player up who has an unknown (at the time) head injury and potential damage to the neck is certainly worth the grade F.
I can’t say i studied it in any detail, not my kind of thing. Did Joel do what is being suggested? At the time I thought he was just trying to hold Myler down but the commentary seemed pretty convinced there was more too it, Myler obviously wasn’t happy either.'"
The stills don't look good but on the one replay I saw it seemed to happen very fast. I think there's room for doubt.
I don't know what's got into the players this year, the Makinson and Lineham incidents and now this. Has it always gone on and is only now being punished? It's very strange.

| Quote ="NickyKiss"The game has made a real effort to improve the processes when it comes to head injuries and to then see a guy cause one and react by dragging the injured player to his feet before dropping him again can’t have gone down well. Micky Mac played his intimidatory role to perfection in every incident bar that one. The fact that he did that and not one Leeds player had even a word with him, showed they wanted no part of him. That’s the issue with playing on the edge though, he gets one thing badly wrong and he’ll be sat down for a number of games now.'"
I was shocked the Leeds players didn't pile into him after that. Would be disappointed if that happened to a Wigan player and no one did anything.
On redvee they've all decided McIlorum is a coward who wouldn't dare try that on anyone bigger than Dwyer. Not that I'm condoning what he did but I thought that was hilarious.

The lad is a maniac and would happily do it to anybody. Anybody who thinks different would be wise to go back and watch the Magic game against Leeds in 2014 when it all kicked off. Jamie Peacock took the first carry after an all in brawl and Micky Mac tried to smash him in to next week. The way the Leeds players just took that last Friday was a real shock. Somebody has to get in to McIlorum there and show people they’ve got each other’s backs.

I did try to remind them of that on Red Vee, but the majority wouldn't have it. I've never seen Mickey Mac back down ever.

There’s a surprise There are some players who do pick on small blokes and hide when things heat up (LMS, Clubb and Ryan Bailey spring to mind straight away) but Micky Mac couldn’t be any further from that. Running battles with Peacock and Warea-Hargreaves spring to mind. One thing we can’t forget also is that Micky Mac is a relatively small bloke himself. He’s pound for pound the most brutal player I’ve seen. The big Leeds forwards who didn’t build pluck up the courage to stick up for Brad Dwyer last Friday are proof of that.

The coward that went toe to toe with Jamie Peacock at the Magic Weekend,i thought it was funny when Dwyer was getting treatment and MM was laughing

| I remember McIlorum punching Elima when we played Catalans as well. Elima took one look at him and dropped to his knee holding his head. Didn't he batter a Wakey prop this season as well? Think it was a cup game but memory could be playing tricks.

Pisses me off to this day that Peacock walked away the apparent victim of all that.
He changes the angle of his run to go after MM and shoves his elbow straight in his throat. Micky rightfully gives him a few digs back while Ryan Bailey runs around pointing and John Bateman goes after anyone that's moving.

Think that may be the one instead of Warea-Hargreaves. Getting myself confused although I do recall him going after JWH in the same game.

As a Rhinos fan (and from way outside the M62 corridor originally) McIlorum's actions and Leeds' lack of response are two separate issues - having watched Leeds for years they just seem a bit polite and nice and whereas I was massively disappointed they were all passive afterwards, I am also not surprised. McIlorum going after the smallest bloke twice gives some indication on his outlooks but I know if I was on the pitch when something like that happened and someone was trying to drag my teammate up on his feet after when he looks away with the fairies I would have totally lost it, even though I am soft as.
It's just the principle of the whole thing. Don't go dragging people up who have dropped to the floor after a hit on the head / neck and who are out of it - he could have had a brain / neck / spine / airway issue or anything. But McIlorum wanted him to get up on his feet as it would make his hit look less bad 'see, you are fine and just being soft'.
The hit is terrible but it what McIlorum does next and Leeds offering no reaction to it that is worst. It is that lack of speaking up / standing ground when putting a pal at risk of all sorts of potential physical health issues (no one had had chance to check him) that really disappoints me.

Leeds don't have any enforcers anymore that are capable of going toe to toe with Mickey Mac,I'd go as far as saying it's one of the softest packs around in super league, you could do a lot worse than sign Liam Watts as a new pack leader

| I think we're kidding ourselves if we think it would have been that much different if it happened to us. All they do now is push and shove until they eventually split up. I doubt that would bother McIlorum much.

| I'm still unclear about JT. What did he do exactly? The incident wasn't shown on the highlights as I recall (MM's was). I did watch the live game, but it seemed unclear; they didn't make that much of it at the time.

The high shot was bad enough for a red, there was no need to try and drag Dwyer up the way he did. Thats not being hard or tough. The ref and video ref need pulling up for their lack of action.

I really don`t get this obsession with Bails and Ablett.
Neither could knock the skin off a rice pudding.
They were panto villains at best who would wind up the opposition but were certainly not hard men.
For the players you mention at Leeds I will raise you Tomkins, Bateman, McIllourum, Head high SOL and of course Flower to name a few.
Probably the only thing I would agree with is MM will hit anyone.

That's what he means, thanks for proving his point.
Other Leeds fan calling Mickey mac out for only picking on small players, when he obviously doesnt.
Whilst ignoring the fact that theyve lauded more than their fair share of grubs, wind up merchants, cheap shot exponents of their own.
Most of whom wouldn't stand toe tontoe with Mickey Mac
Tomkins apart, I would back all the others you name to stand up to anyone.

When have any of those ran away from a fight? Bateman would start one in an empty room.
I haven't seen any of the players you have named cheap shot someone and then go and hide behind the nearest half back.

| Bateman loves the push and shove/verbals style confrontation we see nowadays but he does look like he knows he’d get battered if one of the big guys was let loose on him. He’s very aware of what’s going on around him, who is on his team backing him up and the fact that you’re pretty well protected by the rules IMO.
Micky Mac on the other hand=absolute nutter! He looks dead behind his eyes when he gets in that mode he was in on Friday night and anybody who thinks he is a guy who bullies small players is living in a dream land. He’s small himself and throws himself in to anybody with the force he hit Dwyer with. People saying he wouldn’t go toe to toe with big guys, should ask the question why no big guys go toe to toe with him? There is a reason not one Leeds player went after him on Friday and that is because his reputation goes before him. There aren’t many out and out hard men in the game anymore, probably because it’s not allowed but Micky Mac is one. He’s a throwback really and as we’ll see with his upcoming ban, that style isn’t allowed anymore.
