Every one of those penalties was Phil Bentham cheating though.

Just to let you guys know the latest from 5 live is that Rob Burrow is suggesting McGuire's injury merely a strain and doesn't look too serious.

It is not illegal, can someone just post up the rules and then that can be the end of it. God its boring when fans only listen to want they want, and cant see past the fact that it is not cheating nor is it against the rules. That is why on both occassions the penalty correctly went to Wigan.

Most of our penalties given away are technical penalties which I am not surprised against, so it is hardly anything bad. Its just a result of our tactics which you can see over the course of the season have worked. Looking at that table Leeds have had more bans than Wigan. Disgraceful.

That table is also interesting, looking at Leeds sin-bins and sending off's compared to everyone else and then the match bans imposed, seems to suggest not a lot is done to penalise a player in a game when they play for Leeds. Good example of this is the Ablett situation on Tomkins.

Genuine question, would what DM did be construed as a technical or misconduct offence? I'm not sure.

I would say obstruction in a technical offence, so the fact that Wigan have more technical offences would be relevant to any hysterical outcry following an obstruction penalty, since Wigan commit more technical offences than any other team.

I dont have an argument about it..........I simply think Tomkins is a niggly player (something for which Ryan Bailey gets slaughtered for!) and a penalty machine. Is that not somewhere near correct?

Leeds have 4 sin-binnings and 5 match bans,

3 of these straight away can be taken away as they were Abletts and he wasnt binned so 4 sin-binnings has led to 2 match bans which isnt really different to anyone else

I don't think the Leeds fans are claiming anything about discipline other than challenging the pious reaction of a few who claim they wouldn't want Wigan to win games through spoiling, whilst Wigan concede more penalties than anyone.

I simply asked how that could be the case when Wigans penalty count is the highest in the league, Joel Tomkins is the most penalised player in the league, and it would be naive to pretend at least some of those penalties werent deliberate attempts to seek advantage and therefore comparable with Mcguire

I made no reference to Wigans overall discipline was any better or worse than Leeds and i even pointed out a page ago that the fair-play index was irrelevant and a month out of date
