| Class player. Where can we fit him in though without him getting impatient and moving somewhere else for good? Thank god he signed a new contract last year.

| wouldnt be suprised if we see amos becoming permanant full back next year, with phelpsy in the centres (assuming georgy will retire) and ainy on the wing, the lad needs to be playing for wigan sooner rather than later.

| Again - I'd have given that.
(I really can't believe that I'm agreeing with Ganson on the 2 debatable tries)
Saying that, the KR player obviously didn't think he'd got it, judging by his immediate reaction.
Overall - Rough on Ainy. Hat-Trick and a loss.
Saying that, as long as he's playing and scoring at SL level, I'm happy.

| I'm glad to hear him say that he's using the loan period as a way to "get back in the team".
Whatever happens (barring injury), it can only be good for Shaun and Wigan.
He gets to keep his hand in and play at SuperLeague level, even whilst he's behind both Pat and Amos, and we get a player that is playing at a much higher level than either Academy or Champ, and is ready to step in should we need him back (at least he is after the next 3 weeks are out of the way).

| Great start for Ainscough. Hat trick on your debut and the MOTM for Castleford was announced in the ground. Could have backed himself a couple more times, but I guess position is most important. Dealt with the majority of the kicks well, one slight mistake with the Dobson kick, but in fairness there was no kick pressure applied what so ever from Castleford (who looked gash). Overall I'm quite impressed.
The lad is a little nervous in interviews and his accent comes across really strong. Paused for a long time when asked could he make it back at Wigan. It might have been because of the result, but, to me, I thought he seemed a little dejected.

| Alot won't like this, but for the time being, I'm a lot happier with Ainscough playing away from Wigan than at Wigan, and until he sorts his defense out my opinion won't change.
That isn't to say I don't appreciate all the hard work he does in attack, and I'd love him to sort out the defensive aspect of his game because he will score tries, and he's clearly passionate about playing for Wigan, but for every couple of tries he gets, he costs the team one.
I'm in two minds about whether I even want him out on loan. He's clearly a try scorer, and doesn't lack confidence in attack, so it may be better to have him here, under the guidance of our coaches, who are clearly achieving wonders with the rest of the squad. That way, we can focus almost solely on his defensive game i.e. ability and confidence under the high ball, positioning and judgment of situations.
I know he needs game time, but if he continues to make the same mistakes, is it really beneficial him being away from our coaching staff?
I know this post is very harsh on him, and he did perform very well tonight, but a brilliant performance with ball in hand is too often let down by a howler in defense, normally costing the team a try.

| Ainscough should have been in the Wigan side for the past two weeks imo.
Goulding maybe safe but Ainscough is a constant threat & knows his way to the try line as well.
His attack FAR out ways his occasional lapses in defence which imo are still overplayed on here sometimes.
Keep it up Shaun lad and either stick with Cas or us and you’ll be in the England squad come the France game.

| I think the lad thrives on confidence and hopefully that is what this loan spell will give him. In form and in a confident mood the lad is fantastic and is a joy to watch. He will go down well at Castleford. Experience is the next thing he needs more than anything. Hopefully he will have picked up that he needs to put his body on the line in situations like the one tonight and learn from his mistakes, but at another clubs expense.
But when Phelps is fit I can't see anywhere he can get in the side. Roberts is on fire, Richards is on fire and so was Phelps before he got injured. I feel for the lad because he is not playing bad rugby either. The only chance he could have got is with the injury to Phelps and Roberts moving to fullback. I would have give him his shot over Darrell Goulding, but in Madge we trust and he must think differently.

| Wouldn't it be ironic if Ainscough got selected for England whilst out on loan at Cas.
Who are the top performing English wingmen?
Riley's the top tryscorer but who else is in form and better than SA?

| The kid has the x factor and needs to be in the Wigan first team next year, sadly for me at the expense of Phelps. Roberts, Richards are signed up longer term, Ainscough is the future.
I have a real worry that he will be allowed to walk away from our club and for me that would be criminal, he like the Tomkins bros, and Mossop in my opinion are integral to our long term future.

To be fair to Peter Fox he hasn't seen the ball so far this season.
Jonny Lomax doesn't look to shabby over the lump.

Got to agree
The coaching team have got a big decision in the next 12 months..sadly like you said i think its going to be phelps who makes way unless he could play 6 and tomkins 7 when deacon moves to his coaching role full time. i certainly believe Cam as the game to play stand off.. IMO OF COURSE.
maybe
Roberts
Richards
Carmont
Gleeson
Ainscough
Phelps
Tomkins

| Isn't it good though that we're now struggling with a "who can you leave out, because it's really tough on them" selection problem.
