Had a decent game, scored the 4 walk in tries and was probably at fault for 2 of their tries but Roberts was turd again.

Just got back from the game.......

We should have conceded less then 10 points today. If we had some brains we'd have hammered them. I was literally pulling my hair out at half time and was convinced we'd go on to lose the game so full credit to the players for pulling themselves together. The basic errors in the first half whilst in possesion were unbelievable yet at times we played some breathtaking rugbyleague.

If we cut out the daft errors we'll be a good side imo. I thought Phelps was excellent at centre and showed his versitility, Ainscough is a pure finisher and had a great comeback, Smith played well again especially first half, Coley looks a different player and is running very well but mom for me was O'loughlin again. He ran the show in defence and attack and set our tempo.

Theres alot to build on from that game imo.

Ignore the rest it's 17 in 10 for Ainscough - not 16. I'm not given that try at Barrow to Carmont - he could never score standing vertical.

We're a 5 drives and a kick team according some "knowledgeable" posters on here.

You know what, at times today that was what was needed, but we kept on throwing the ball about. Very entertaining but bl**dy frightening.

One day we will put together a top class game, and some team will get a 60 point hiding.

I thought Smith was excellent today and was my m.o.m. followed by Lockers and a big shout to Cameron Phelps.

O'Loughlin and Smith both had great games. Makes me laugh when people used to slate Locky for not having an attacking game.. now one of the top 5 attacking LF's in the league on current form.

Sums up my thoughts as well.

But for some brain explosions that would have been a very comfortable win.

You couldn't help but think that Noble may have a point after today in that we do need to stop pretending we're the harlem globetrotters at times and choose when to grind a set out.

Hopefully it'll come.

We look so much better as a team when we spin the ball out and play some attractive stuff.

By all means batter their line for 3 tackles with the forwards but after that spin it out to hock and have him running the angles bursting through the line, we now have quality centres and half-backs with great hands, we also currently have pretty naff forwards, our game plan writes itself.

It's all about balance during a game. At times today I was screaming "play the set out" get a good kick in and push on in defence.

But we are entertaining and frightening.

Surely that was when we were ahead at the end though?

Why? His attacking game was poor. If he is turning that around that is great for him and for the team.

It's highs and lows with us isn't it.

One minute your down thinking what the hell have we done then the next your up on the back of a sensational try like the Ainscough one that went through a few pairs of hands in the first half.

I'll settle for an end to end, high scoring nailbiter of a win next week though

Exactly what I was saying.

Brain explosions and self destruct buttons were in evidence this afternoon.

Still, I will take the win.

We must be the worst side in the world for dropping ball on the first tackle

Ainscough is quality, Noble should have him in every week.

What frustrated me in the second half was the fact we returned to the 1 out stuff as if we were tring to play out time with 20 minutes left, thankfully the ball broke for us and we kicked on, but i did feel in that spell we were inviting Trinity to beat us.

At times, the team doesn't seem to know when to play the right stuff, its to be expected with our change in style.

What we need to find is consistency within the game and as such in our form.

We need to become more Saints-like in our approach to games in that we know when to raise the tempo of games, when to slow it, when to chance our arm and when to play out the sets.

If we could manage all that theres enough good players at the club to achive something imo.

I've written along those lines in my match report. Not clever at times. Highlighted by Amos Roberts who threw a stupid offload after a break into Gleeson's leg second half. He forced a never on pass despite us leading.
