Quote Today's pre-season game between Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors has been postponed due to a frozen pitch at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Due to heavy overnight frost on Friday and Saturday part of the pitch shaded by the Stands is still frozen.
It is likely the Jon Clarke Testimonial fixture will be re-arranged for next Wednesday evening.(2nd February.) The Club will be in a position to confirm the re-arranged details on Monday.

Such a shame. My 7 year old niece was really excited about this game what with it being her first Warrington match, I don't think she will be able to go on Wednesday night so she'll be really disappointed.
Still, what can you do? It's a friendly at the end of the day, not a league game, so the postponement is probably in the best interest. Shame for JC though also. Doubt there will be a bigger attendence on Wednesday night then there would have been this afternoon.

Fuming!! They clearly called this off last night. Why couldn't they just tell us then. Was getting messages at half 9 saying it was off before the so called pitch inspection at half 10. They didn't even give it a chance. It didn't freeze overnight, far warmer than yesterday and surely thawed out by now.
Doubly annoyed as I dragged myself out of bed at half 7 and I've paid £32 for a ticket to watch spurs on the wednesday which I'm now having to sell on so I can go to the rescheduled game (or should that be scheduled because they had no intention of playing today).

Could have played it IMO, I just played football not far away from the HJ, and that was a 12 o'clock kick off and the pitch was totally fine! They didn't give it a chance, even with the pitch inspection which was supposed to be 10, but they called it off earlier than that. Feel sorry for Clarke now, there will be a lot smaller crowd on Wednesday to watch it.
