| Just wondering what people thought. Stick with the England squad, or go back to the old GB squad?

| If we want a serious and respected international game then it has to be England.
If we want to have a 3 way competition for our international game and throw PNG in there when they get an NRL team then we should go with GB.
It has to be England but I would prefer GB.
We should tour as GB though. No harm in that.

I would love to see GB do a tour of Aus, NZ and PNG. That would be class.
I would also love the NRL to start their season a few weeks later and fit in a tour in over here. 3 game series against England with games against a few of the top clubs and inlcluding a game against the Exiles that would be huge!

| We wouldn't have had the Danny Brough and soon to be Rhys/Ben Evans farce if we have the GB option.
To be honest though looking at it, England Squad= GB Squad at the moment.

The squad is not the issue. We all know the current England team is the GB team really. It is about the identity of the international game, we don't seem do have one. NRL and super league singing off the same song sheet would be a decent start IMO.

| I don't think its as much the name we go by it's what wearing the shirt means thats important. Playing representative rugby for england in rugby league seems to me not to be as important as playing for your country in any other sport. There needs to be an establish home for the national team and I know building a purpose built ground isn't going to happen anytime soon but there should be a stadium that can be identified as the home of England/GB RL.

Tough one, if England did become GB he surely would have to be at least asked as he is the best winger who could possibly qualify for GB. What do you think?

Hasn't Richards already stated that he wouldn't play for Great Britain as he sees himself as Irish-Australian and not British?

i have no idea......thats another reason i prefer GB......it saves all the hassle of trying to find out who english.
danny brough?
lee briers?
and if we had been split into 4 nations years ago, we wouldnt have seen W J Boston playing for england?
so if WJ Boston mk2 comes along in the present set up....he'll be stuck with a bunch of no hopers.

| I've gone for England because I think it will help the international game if we let Wales, Scotland and Ireland develop on their own. As previously said though some players are already declaring themselves for England which will not help the other countries.
IMO the GB would be the England team anyway so its more beneficial to just keep it as England.

| I'd simply do a tri cycle, every 3rd year GB, then Wales have a stronger chance of keeping players like the Evans brothers defecting.

| Has to be GB, anybody who was at Old Trafford in 86, 90 or Elland Road 90, Wembley 90,92 will know that the passion shown by the fans for a GB side far outweighs it than a England side

| keep as england but introduce gb tours every 3-4years and alsohave regular fixtures for wales , scotland and ireland against the bigger nations
for example
2012 - gb tour
2013 - world cup
2014 - 4 nations
2015 - gb tours
2016 - 4 nations
2017- world cup
2018 - 4 nations
2019 - gb tours
2020 - 4 nations
2021 - world cup
with that obviously repeating its self in a 4 year cycle meaning that you obviously have the world cup every 4 years, the 4 nations for every 2 years which is better and in the middle of the cycle you have a great britain tour. for me this format is alot better then the current

Carney played for Great Britain and Ireland. The Republic of Ireland is not part of Great Britain, Northern Ireland is.

He's not eligable as his ancestry is from The Republic of Ireland and not Great Britain, unless of course they change it to Great Britain and Ireland like they did so Carney could play.
