As we haven't finished so high in the table in so long, I'm a bit confused about the play offs.

Do we play the first weekend and third weekend (providing we win the league and providing we win in the first weekend)?

If so, we will be playing 10/11 September at home and Wigan Athletic have a game at home on 11th Sept. I can't see sky moving the game to Sunday so will we be expected to move grounds AGAIN?

Is this going to be a weekly thing?

Lets put it simple, forgetting what everyone else is doing.

We will play 4th place at home. If we win then we play the team of our choice in the 3rd week of the play-offs at home. If we lose then we play the lowest ranked team in week 2.

Can we not just pin a this is how the play offs work and no we dont have a clue what happens if Pathetics are at home to on the forum!!

I think they will move our game to the Sunday in place of the 6th V 7th match
But only time will tell

Regarding stadium availability and when/where we have to play our first round play-off match, I hope the club make an announcement pretty swiftly after the Huddersfield game if we've mathematically wrapped up the top spot.

Play-off Friday, Latics Saturday (if that's allowed - that's how it should be, based on the schedule)
Play-off Friday, Latics switch to Sunday (cat in hell)
Latics Saturday, Play-off Sunday (likely, though possibly up to Sky, and leaves a short turn-around to the next play-off round for the losers)
Play-off Friday in Widnes, Latics Saturday (can of worms opened, Whelan lynched)

I think it will be that simple this time BUT it would be nice if the club clarified our position.

As I understand it under the new Premiership rules NO games are allowed to play on the pitch 48 hours prior to a Premiership game.

There is nothing set in stone however that says the top team HAS to play on the Friday night. Wigan RL will play on the Sunday.

Can anybody find the premier league rules on groundsharing to put this to bed once and for all as we have had this for the last 5 years.The top team should play on friday as thats sky showpiece game of the weekend.

There used to be an urban myth about a 24 hour rule as well.

It has happened before as well.

Wigan met Saints on Good Friday (5:15pm) then Latics played Bolton on the Saturday in 2007. The difference then was Whelan owned us so it was in his interest.

Unfortunately it looks as though we'll have to put with 'tics being in charge of who plays when as I found this on the Premier League website about ground sharing.

4.​No Club shall have or enter into a ground-sharing agreement unless the agreement contains a legally enforceable provision to the effect that the playing of the Club’s League Matches shall always take precedence over the activities of the other party to the agreement.

Although no info about how many hours there has to be between use of the stadium.

I'm pretty sure Hull City and Hull FC played at the KC on the same day once?

They did but Hull City were not in the PL at the time

2. Will the RFL allow us to?

If Sky want the Latics on TV on Saturday and they tel the RFL they are putting our game to Sunday the RFL will change it
