Anyone have any idea whats going on with this captaincy? MM had a system with five captains/ Leadership team... three of them were on the field last night. Carmont, O'Loughlin and Leuluai.


So why was Fielden handed the captaincy?

probably to help him pull his finger out n give him some confidence maybe? i duno thats my guess

Because we now have a coach who is willing to innovate in the best interests of the team.

If something can be changed which Madge thinks will benefit the team then we have seen on numerous occasions this season that he is willing to do it, regardelsss of what other people think.

I know that Fielden did not have a great game last night but he has been terrific for Wigan this season, particularly when you consider his form under Noble which was less convinicing than what it has been this season. Paul Deacon commented at the start of the season that he thought Fielden would benefit from a change of coach and i think he genuinley has done.

I can't see a problem with players outside of the Leadership Team being handed the captaincey as long as they have earned it.

I think Stuart Fielden and Joel Tomkins have done.
