Skolars away in January as usual.

But not in "The City'.......

The Skolars game is 27th January at New River. With the bulk of the team being academy players.
I would expect a game up North on the 28th . That is how it normally works out.

Doncaster (21/1) and HKR (27/1) announces, both seem sensible!

Hull KR game is on Friday 26th at 7.30 pm. I cannot see many making the journey up for that.

Should be a couple of good hit outs for the lads before the season gets going.

I see that the Leigh have cancelled their friendly game against Doncaster due to injuries.

Bossy thats an odd one. To have so many injuries mid pre season just seems unusual to say the least. Due to having no academy they can't even throw a load of kids out.

That is exactly what I thought WQ. You can expect to have a few injuries in pre season training, but to be unable to field a team is unbelievable.
It gives Doncaster a problem with their season build up too. Our game against them will have more meaning. They will have to get more out of it.

Have they stated that’s what it is? Suppose you have to look at it sensibly as a club and not risk anymore injuries, it is odd though, maybe if they are struggling already they will not be the league runaways as everyone is predicting.

Only a week to go until Doncaster. The last time we played there we did not do too well.

Next up Hull KR. Then we start off in the games that count.

The squad for Hull KR friendly has included several of the youngsters from the Doncaster game. Sam Davis, brother of Matt is included too.
It will be interesting to see how well they play against stiffer opposition.

Congratulations to the Broncos fans who have made it up there. I know they are few in number, but to make it up there on a Friday night, takes dedication. Only sorry that I could not be with them.

20 minutes yet so the damn can bust, but sounds like KR are having to work hard for it.

Well travelling up to hull on a fri night, and throwing in a few of the youngsters up against a pretty decent KR squad was never going to be easy. To come away losing by one converted score is a pretty decent result in my view, maybe Wardy is not that daft!
Even the “glass half empty” crowd can’t find too much wrong with this run out.

Let’s hope we can turn it on next weekend when it really matters

You played very well against probably our starting line up I thought we might pull away in the last 20 but you stuck with it good luck for the coming season you seem to be flying under the radar a bit I think some of the fancied teams might get a shock when playing you

Frankie, thanks for that, was only following the game on line so obviously can’t comment on much. Warm up games are just that, sounded like it took a while for your lot to click, hope it’s given sheens something to think about and hope you do well this season.
As for us, well not many folk happy with wardy and we have not made any big signings so even some of our own fans are doom and gloom.
Pleased we gave you a decent test tonight.

Usual questions how did they look? Any obvious injuries, are they looking fit enough?

And I know he wasn't involved but judging by his social media, it looks like Ben Evans is in hospital today, possibly for an operation!!
