| It has been deliberately delayed by a year to 2013 to avoid the Olympics and will continually avoid it after that. Yep the Olympic stadium as well as the Stoop will get some use we would hope. Chances of an England group game at The Stoop??

| And as much as I'm sure you guys don't give a damn, thought I'd say England are hosting the 2015 Rugby Union RWC.
All we need now is the football world cup and it's a decade of the largest sport events in our merry country...get in!

| See how radio has given plenty of coverage to the RU world cup announcement with just a passing mention to The RL World Cup.
On Five Live Will Greenwood sating how he be from the North West
was glad that this part of the country is getting such big RU world cup matches!

| Some coverage just now, though after the Union, of course. Is it a stroke of genius of a bone-headed blunder to announce the two on the same day?

The RFU guy was suggesting that the North-West games were for the convenience of Irish fans, and was intended to get their vote.

| Quote ="Fan50"Chances of an England group game at The Stoop??'" I would say the chances of this are miniscule. After the disaster of the 2000 RLWC hosted here, I would've thought that the RFL will either play England's games in the North West, or Wembley, to maximise possible revenue. I could see The Stoop used for group games involving other teams though - bearing in mind that, if Quins RU's development plans all go through, we will be based in a 14-18,500 seater stadium. We could get NZ or Aus?

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_l ... 172806.stm
Wales Rugby League's executive chairman Mark Rowley hopes that Wales gets to host some of the World Cup matches in 2013.
Rugby League International Federation announced in Singapore on Tuesday that the UK would be the tournament's hosts.
Welsh venues were used in the 1995 and 2000 World Cups and Rowley is confident of securing more games in four years.
"We're pleased to hear that we're being considered again to host matches in the Rugby League World Cup," he said.
"It was a big success here both in 1995 and 2000 and we've making tremendous progress on and field since then.
"We're winning international tournaments with alarming regularity right now with our students being British champions and our Under-18s being British and European Champions.
Rowley added: "Our "A" side are also one match away from their seventh Home Nations title in the last eight years.
"All these players now have the chance to progress to Super League with the Crusaders and then to full internationals, and a World Cup in your own country is something for every youngster to aim for."
The Cardiff City Stadium holds 26,500 spectators
In 1995, three matches were held in Wales - two at Cardiff's Ninian Park and one at Swansea's Vetch Field.
And in 2000, Wrexham's Racecourse and Llanelli's Stradey Park played host to one World Cup game each, while the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff held two games.
Wales' hopes could be further boosted by three new stadia being built since 2000.
Swansea's 20,000-capacity Liberty Stadium, which has replaced the Vetch, opened in 2005.
Llanelli's new 15,000-seater Parc Y Scarlets home opened last year as Stradey Park made way for housing.
And this month, the 26,500-capacity Cardiff City Stadium was opened, replacing Ninian Park.
Both grounds in Swansea and Cardiff host football and rugby union on a regular basis, while Parc Y Scarlets predominantly hosts rugby union.
And RFL spokesman said: "We are in negotiation with various Government agencies and regional bodies about the venues for the 2013 Rugby League World Cup which is already arousing considerable interest from all regions in the UK."
