| Not according to Mr McDermott.
He doesn't think the Salford game is important.

Of course he doesnt...everything is coming up roses in Macs la la land...I was never one for jumping on the "Mac out" bandwagon, but surely the time has now come for the powers that be in the club to take some constructive action. As suggested by Wirequin , appoint a director of rugby to give Mac some guidance perhaps? For those of you who were'nt at Headingly it was as bad as it can get...If the club announces a forthcoming forum then it will be extremely insightful to listen to how the club intends digging itself out of this hole before it falls into the abyss of non-existence.

| [url=http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/10167.phpPost match interview[/url courtesy of the Rhinos. Most of questions are by Ian Ramsdale and Simon Fitzjohn (Richmond and Twickenham Times).
Will Sharp, David Howell and Luke Williamson called out for special praise. Interestingly he says he was not happy about brining Bibb in and he wanted to play some our London juniors a bit more. I thought that comment was quite interesting.
Danny Orr has "pulled his back". No estimate given on when he may return.
They also have [url=http://www.therhinos.co.uk/rugby/10166.phpmatch report[/url from the U20s game. We lost 34 - 12.

And why should he? His employer doesn't give a toss about crowds so long as we have a few kids coming through, so why would he give a toss about losing every game and finishing last.......I mean it's not like we can be relegated is it

| Do you really think when he goes into training today he will say oh it's only the Reds next week Im not bothered if we win or lose. Get real will you.
He will be spitting feathers with the capitulation on Fri and asking for an extra special effort this week. Its mind game for gods sake.

| Leeds was my first ever away game so enjoyed the experience of a big crowd, decent beer beforehand etc. But that was as “fun” as it got. The second half was an utter embarrassment. Leeds basically took the , especially in the last 25 mins. I was stood with Leeds fans (my relatives are Leeds fans) and they mostly took pity on me – when they weren’t celebrating their numerous tries of course. The awful amateurish kit got a few comments too. I’m fairly new to RL (only started watching/going in 2008, though have a season ticket this year) so can’t compare the defeat to previous hidings but we won at Leeds last year – what the hell has gone wrong since?? Is it purely down to injuries? Anyway, amazingly it didn’t kill off too much of my enthusiasm and will definitely try and get to another away game or two later in the year.

Is it? I don't remember him going in for that sort of behaviour before. He also doesn't strike me as someone who wouldn't give a straight answer to a straight question.
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest you [url=http://www.therhinos.co.uk/news/10167.phpwatch the interview[/url I posted (it's not very long). In it McDermott gives a frank and honest assessment.
I don't dispute that he won't be preparing the team to best of his ability for the weekend. But from his comments he's not placing any special significance on the game.

Thanks for the link, PTB. Yes, very frank and honest. In the context of the interview, not placing too much emphasis on the Salford game makes some sort of sense. He's saying that he really needs a few of the experienced players back before the team can be judged on results.
He looked awful at the start of that interview. Let's hope we DO get a result against Salford, he wants it, even if he says he doesn't.

fond memories of being told TWICE we would win SL last year
I am sure he is depressed, but it his job to coach and Motivate the team and as such, he will always put a positive spin on the situation.........even if it is daft to try to
