Well done London. Even if you didn't play well. Sounds like our defence was excellent in the first half. No one bar Mark Rammond and Tony Rea has given us credit for that.'"
have to agree, the attacking play was woeful but in defence, a gutsy effort to keep a determined team who dominated possession and territory to just 4 points, lower division or otherwise. still hard to be enthused about the first half performance on the whole though. second half obviously far better, dorn added a lot of spark. frustrating though that if we'd played as we did for the last try for the whole game ie backs lined up deep, spread the ball quickly aka BASIC ATTACKING RUGBY LEAGUE then we might have made the scoreline look a bit more comfortable. if you give dixon any sort of space on the outside hes liable to score- getting the ball to him on the wing as fast as possible should be the aim of any attacking move beginning on the opposite side
end of the day, solid viewing as a contest if not a spectacle, and a win's a win. probably not going to see too many more of them over the season so may as well savour it
full credit to fev today, they were the hungrier side and enjoyed seeing their team spirit in effect, celebrating every little thing on the field that went their way, especially in the first half when they were fresh and clearly very fired up for it. credit to their fans for travelling in good number too, enjoyed the atmosphere they created.
oh and finally, award for strangest running technique- will lovell
