Thank god for rugby league! Don't watch much football these days but I thought I'd do my patriotic bit - flags, match party etc, only I think I knew that all the hype would be for nothing and so it's proved. The English team will do what they always do - fail to deliver. This country really needs a lift at the moment but it ain't gonna come from the World Cup that's for sure.....

they were a bit below par on friday night but all is not lost yet.
as ,for the rest of it opening group games are always usualy cagey tedious affairs,its sure to improve now that group placings are at stake, cameroon v denmark was a cracking game tonight.

I love football but I just can't get into this world cup! All the teams seem pretty mediocre. England are just a team of overpaid players who have no pride in the shirt! They think that because their club is foolish to pay over the odds for them they deserve to play internationally! Even the so called "stars" of the other countries seem to have nothing but dive at the slightest closeness of the opposition! Many are complaining about the ball and yes it does seem that they are playing for drop goals but thats the players not the ball!! And don't get me started on the constant drone, it may be a south African thing but it just drowns out the usual atmosphere not adds to it!!

It might get better in the next round but I doubt it!!! I can't believe I wait all this time for such competitions where theres wall to wall football and yet I'm so dissapointed with this World Cup. It was a relief to watch Batley outperform Leigh on Thursday now that was entertaining! Even though The Mexican's lightened up the dross by beating France!
