Personally I dismissed the performances when we suffered all the early season injuries and "got behind em
The wins over Hull and the Millenium performance proved we CAN do it (when we want I add)
Where were the nerves after those type of performances ? Why didnt we kick on and go forward?
I honestly cant excuse the losses (widnes / Hull kr ) when we were approx 3 scores up and the wondrous other 40 min performances against Batley etc and the "picnic" at Salford

I never imagined that you`d question the allegiance shown by others on here who`s main love is RL

If they suffer from nerves then no- they aren't dealing with it well, they have bottled it, they are spineless - but when we are in a difficult situation we feel nerves. I was a nervous wreck before my driving test all those years ago- I remember the first time I did a presentation in front of a lecture hall full of people I felt physically sick- it seems daft to think that now! how many have had shaky hands when sat in a job interview, or stood in front of the altar.....
Nerves is a very difficult thing to control- the fact they don't seem very "together" as a group won't help. I'm not blaming the fans but I do think we are more unforgiving than other fans- because as you say it's been more downs than ups. Extra pressure doesn't help.

Let's look on the bright side shall we, it could be much worse......we could be Salford fans.

Hmmm- of course London beating Salford means if London hammer fev by 50-60 points, Leeds and KR beat us by 30 each and we finish 6th.

......considering they (Salford)are the only SL team weve played in the playoffs, fella, and we lost .....it doesn`t bode well.........

And if that happens we well and surely deserve to be in the Championship!!
And it will all be because we brought Grixy back

how many times have hudds bottled it though, as recently as leigh then salford away then last season v leeds in the last few mins then all the semi final play off defeats...sometime it has to stop...hopefully not too late, two/three big games to come , lets hope they snap out of the cycle asap

wardle had his best game for 2 years, symonds is a class player and roberts improves every week.

stone got the selection right, finally brough and brierley get the chance to show what they can do

rapira off injured but hopefully ok for next week and maybe crabtree comes back in if injured

alot happier this week, a confidence booster but we have 1 maybe 2 massive games now

Totally agree with that. We have finally woken up that we are in a scrap for SL survival and playing to our strengths with players in their natural positions. Brierley needs to stay in the halves long term for me, and Connor looks far better at centre. Everyone trying really hard today and the fans responded to that effort. Play like that again at KR next week and automatic qualification is ours. Worst case scenario now is a home tie in the mpg - but now hoping to avoid it which until today was looking really unlikely.
Well done Giants - still keeping the faith.

Players looked a lot more confident defensively- wonder why

After last weeks debacle, the players certainly responded with a performance that weve only seen occasionally this season. Play like that next Saturday and we should be OK. All the players stood up to day. Huby whose taken some stick on this forum recently was outstanding. Sebastine had his best game for the giants since joining us. Wardle and Murphy had their best game for some time. And, dare i say it, our defence looked much better and more organised with Grix at full back.

Defensively, as good as we've been for weeks, as Jools says, i wonder why?
I thought Grix was superb today, marshalling the defence and not giving them a sniff until we had that awful 5/6 minutes, you could see the difference today.

But a good all round team effort and players who apparently don't want to play for us anymore showed up well.
I thought the scoreline flattered them as they never really looked in it, apart from some very lenient penalties from Thaler and a bit of switching off from us.

Now now Jools! We can't have any posatives about Grix on here.



Good performance for the Giants. Pointless win really unless we back it up. Not something we've been good at against SL opposition this season.

The 18th man - the fans- turned up and as we hoped the first 17 turned up and performed how we all know they can. A bit of a blip in the second half but came through .... can we back it up now? You've shown what you can do, so a repeat performance should do the trick.

Much improved attitude and foundations set by a dominant pack which had been so rare this season. Thought all the forwards were great. Nice to see some aggression on our left edge, Connor and Wardle made a good partnership and hats off to Wood for the one on one tackle on Joel Moon when Leeds had torn us open and looked destined to score. Need to get the job done on Saturday now and start building the confidence back for next season!

Also some big efforts by Grix and good meters made out of dummy half when we werstruggling for meters. Fair play to the lad came back in and earnt his place for next week

Yes Grix had a good game and I'm happy to give him credit for our defence looking so much better. We were so much better with Brierley as well, It's not that he creates a lot ( we have Brough for that ) but he is such a good support player and has the pace to finish off. Well done the whole team for me, I can't believe they are finally going to play like that and then let it slip next week, HKR will have something to say about that of course, but we know we have the beating of them if we just turn up with Yesterdays attitude. Decent turn out, including Leeds.
