In some ways we are now under more pressure as they have the two Tomkins out. If we dont win we will be given some stick. I would have much rather had them both playing. I quite like watching sam as niggly as he is. have No time for his thug of a brother .

Thats ok, we were missing Robinson,Griffin,Hodgson,Raleigh,Kirmond,Molloy,Gilmour on Sunday ...so we could have players out too so thats evened that one out !!!

I think it might be a mistake to bring Robbo back for this game. The halves are finding their feet now and we've no problem at hooker either. Why tamper with a successful formula in such an important game? Also Robbo can't be match fit. If nothing else, this should be a really fast-paced game. I'd bring him back in the Hull KR game or the Trinity one. For Friday, I'd go with...

You know Eddie and Stevo will only mention the Wigan players that will be missing though don't ya. We could play all our academy team and we wouldn't hear a peep from them about an under strength team.

Totally disagree, if we are under more pressure then that's a mental thing, which we have control over and therefore can do something about it.

I'm sure the players will not be looking at it from a negative POV but use the absence of some key Wigan players as a massive positive, it's about 2 points, no one will care if they played or not come the end of the season.

Our players will hopefully, simply be focused on winning the game regardless of who the players opposing them are !

i think its a bit of a shame and if i were a giants fan id be a bit disappointed with the Wigan situation. Huddersfield are a superb side and are a team that will push for a top 2 finish this year. With that in mind i would have liked to have seen how my team faired against a full strength championship side. that way i would be able to assess how good my own team actually was and use it as a barometer as to whether we could class ourselves as title contenders. i have no doubts that it will be a giants win perhaps by 3 scores on friday, its always been a bogey ground for us anyway and i wouldnt be confident with a full strength side but we will put out a side that is competitive but ultimately i think you will be too much for us over the course of 80 mins.

I don't, it's about 2 points, we can worry about who's the best team in the competition at the business end of the season.

Incorrect, Eddie wont give two hoots about Wigan missing players, infact he will thrive in it.

No club with get the sympathy that Sky gave Leeds last season.

Wigan are the current champions so therefore should,regardless of players mssing, put out a very good side.
We have managed to leave out some very good players through choice this year already and are sitting pretty at the top so Wigan, even without some top players should still have plenty of talent to make this a tight contest.
The only shame i can see is that this has given Wigan a hand made ready excuse should they get beat and a lot of their fans are already using it 'in case' , so no matter how well we play or dont we cant really win:
We win = wigan had their reserves out blah blah so it isn't a true reflection of how good we are
We lose = We cant even beat wigans reserves so therefore are in a false position blah blah

but like has already been said i dont care who is playing for the opposition or who isn't, all i am interested in is seeing the Giants win and pick up 2 more points as we pull away from the rest of SL

Not at all , it seems to me like Wigan fans are saying we've got the 2 points because they will have to put out a team full of nobodies.
Whatever team they put out it will be a hard game, which i expect nothing less than......in no way am i, nor would i, presume we have 2 points in the bag against Wigan ,whoever lines up for them!

its not a team of nobodies but its a team that would be hell of a lot stronger with Pat, Gleeson, Fielden, Finch, J Tomkins, S Tomkins, O carroll, Deacon possibly roberts.

My point was that yes 2 points are on offer and that is all that counts at this early stage but you have started the season really well and i would like to have a yard stick at where we are. Can we beat a good Wigan side or champion Wigan side. It would have been a good measure of how you've come and whether you are to be considered title contenders.
