Well if you look at Widnes results we are not in decline and I am sure Brown will do ok.Anyway I am sure Kev Brown be happy to read what your fans think of him.I could say the same about Scott Moore been crap at Widnes,but he has ability just like Brown.Anyway he will have to fight for his place as Mellor and Hanbury are playing very well.If read my earlier posts injuries can effect players performances.

So nothing of substance to back up what you say. You've hardly seen brown player so you rely on bluster.

say what you like about scott Moore, but remember this:

1. Moore cost us nothing to sign. brown cost you 100K plus.

2. Moore was signed as cover for 6 months. You have brown for 4 years.

3. Moore costs the Giants peanuts. Brown costs you almost 10% of your salary spend.

4. Moore will likely be gone at the end of the year. Brown and his increasingly creaking ankles will draw his big wage for years.

I have seen all but one of KBs games this year. I have miseed only 3 Giants games in 4 years. so I have seen KB play.

Having watched him it is clear his captaincy has been a joke, he chickens out from taking on the line, he misses too many tackles, goes awol in the defensive line (see the Hodgson try vs wolves) and his pass accuracy and selection have deteriorated and he is crocked. If you do not agree with these points provide something more than your witless blind faith or your ah van / cross stories

Think you are being a tad harsh on KB. I agree not captain material and was a mistake appointment for that role IMO. He also has had some terrible games defensively in recent weeks - but up until the kr away game he had been playing well- including in defence- could be a coincidence but that game was where he picked up his injury- it was also notable that until he left the field the giants were in front and it looked like a certain win.
I also think that in recent weeks he has been getting a lot of stick from the fans- why would he bother playing through pain if some of the fans are against him.
Perhaps he did give up once he knew his future lay elsewhere- but until he's back and fit I don't think we can comment on whether he really has lost his ability. Having his wife not nagging at him about moving back home might do him and his game the world of good!!
He wasn't working for us- but he could well do a job at widnes- let's wait and see - before words have to be eaten!

Kevin has been a fabulous player for us over the years he has been at the club.

NB recognised he was not a stand off which is why he signed Carney however KB has done his best ever since and guided us to Wembley with a great display against Saints in the semi final in 2009, as wella s play off win at Warrington.

Had KB been at centre for the last 3 years or he had a decent pack in front of him this year e might have stayed longer !!!!

been injured all season with his ankle and played out of position this year too at loose forward.

Not just poor defensively. His unwillingness to take on the line and his dreadful passing game have been a major let down.

Why would he bother playing through pain? Because professional RL players do it all the time, because he might have some personal pride and because he might have some loyalty to coaches team mates and friends.....however if those things do not matter to KB then he will not 'play through pain'.

I know you prefer to make stuff up about people fartown84 and then shut up when challenged to provide facts so offthecuff commenting on brown without watching him play will suit you 100%



Totally wrong about NB 'recognising' KB was not a 6. NB had 4 years to find an alternative to KB if he did not want him at 6.

Of course he would jump at Todd carney as he is a world class 6 - better than anyone in SL.

KB as a centre is laughable. He has no acceleration and has always been a soft defender. If all you aspire to is mediocrity then KB at centre is just fine.

So you cannot comment on KBs actual performances.

Call me what you like...but be careful what you say about kevin brown, apparently he is such a softC*ck that a bit of criticism can put him off his game.

Kev Brown was a tidy player for us. IMHO he did have a tendency to go missing in the bigger games but that's an aspect of his game that was more mental than being about natural talent. If he believed in himself more I think he could've done more.... But that's true of a lot of people in all different walks of life. FWIW, I always saw him as an inside centre.... he doesn't have he pace of a top class stand off. He wouldn't have been my captain either, but hindsight is always 20:20 vision. Sadly, his recent form has been poor. He'll probably say that himself. But he did a lot of good things for us and helped raise the club's profile so fair play. Good luck pal.

Our biggest issue is that we don't actually have a leader in our team. If we had Sean O'Loughlin in our side we would not be in this pickle. He isn't a talker, he is a do-er. We don't have a talker and we don't have a do-er. We need one badly.

I will make my opinion after watching him in a Widnes shirt to be honest.But i have seen a few games of him on Sky over the years, and has done good enough.We do not expect to sign Cooper Cronk,Thurston,or anybody of that calibre due to the Aussie salary cap.Hanbury and Mellor have played well at halfback, and he will have to play well otherwise wont get in the team.Cahill has been playing Looseforward and again Brown will have to do well again.Yes i do not watch him every week, but as i said Leeds thought Cross was rubbish and now is imense.Ah Van was crap according to Bradford fans too.Anyway we are going around in circles here, so i say a few fans liked him over the years, and you do not.We all have opinions and i may think he is crap too.But i wont judge yet, but i have seen some glimpses of class from him.

to be fair to kevin he has done a fair job for us over the years, just needs to get fit and regain his form, its only a few years ago he played at stand off for england after all, perhaps he just needs to get back over the hill and settle down away from the off field issues that have dogged him lately. One thing for sure hes deffo not a captain though.

Glad you have now seen sense. Glad you have conceded you have seen a few games over the years, yet have seen very little in 2012. brown has gone backwards since 2009. In 2011 and 12 it has been a marked decline.

When I pointed out specific deficiencies in Brown in 2012 you resorted to calling the comments 'rubbish'. But you offered no analysis of brown this year, difficult when you have not seen him play.

Maybe so, but a few fans on here have rated him, just not recently and this maybe due to wanting be nearer home or injured.Could be many reasons, but does not mean he is a crap player, as has got talent.Hopefully Widnes can reignite his talent with a big pack behind him.We have a few youngsters in the wings, and he will have to play well to be ahead of Mellor and Hanbury.Scott Moore was e at Widnes and a drunk and believe doing ok now?

He'll come good for you I'm sure. As with Nathan Brown he has been in an impossible position since the move was announced and as the teams performances dipped his his poor form was magnified and he got more and more criticism. Some players carry on regardless and still play well when a move is announced and in this case it did not work out at all but I am sure with a pre-season behind him at Widnes he will be back.

If you could manage to read what i write rather than jump to conclusions you will not find reference to brown as a crap player. I rated him as a good player in 09 and much of 10. However in 11 and 12 he has declined significantly and emerged as a biscuit boned player. No sensible giants supporter could argue that brown has not declined significantly since 2009.

The near home thing is twaddle, players commute across the pennines with ease. And playing well with injuries would appear to be beyond Brown.

I have seen that Widnes have had problems with Moore and watts etc ho hum. We have Moore for a few more games on buttons. Widnes have an injury prone, soft player on the decline for 4 years. oh dear.

I did read what you wrote and as a few say he will come good at Widnes.

I appreciate that small children need to believe in magical thinking. And clearly lemming heads will draw comfort from others who share their ignorance. However mantras of 'he will come good' and backing blind faith over facts will not make KB any better.

Kev brown has,like nathan brown,has been an integral part of what we have done the last few years lets not forget that
yes he has been poor this season but he can still be a top player if played properly
again,like nathan its a shame its ended this way but his time at fartown has run its course, all i can say is thanks kev and good luck in the future
