Would have ferres at loose and as captain. He is deadly on the left spot in attack. Runs a good arc and loves the one arm off load. However at 13 he can be one the left right or centre channel. This added freedom makes him a much more difficult player to stop. You can't say watch ferres on there left as he can pop up anywhere. Also he is fierce tackler and doesn't miss many. On top of that he has a bit of niggle and doesn't go hiding! Leading from the front is exactly where I would have him!

What happened with Ferres?

Don't get to many away games nowadays, listened on Radio Merseyside, oh dear, Ray French commentary was abysmal, still haven't got a clue what the offence was concerning Brett, it seemed to take an age after the offence before the culprit had been identified by the former St Helens leg end. And trying to understand how the flow of the game was going was nigh on impossible. Used to be bad enough when he commentated on the tv games, when at least his waffle could be ignored and the pictures told the story, about the only thing that made any sense was how well the Giants had dug in deep especially in defence playing with 12 men

First and foremost well done on the win!

A dire game, which was aided by the referee letting the play the ball become a disgrace.

Two poor teams on show in my view on. All 4 half backs on the field were poor and created nothing all day, the tries were all poor ones from both teams.

Thought your character and game management was second to none. You won the game in the first half by not letting us in. You can see why you're the best defensive side in the division.


One last point, why were you booing Rhys Hanbury throughout the 42 minutes he played and a small number of fans clapping Brett Ferres off? It was a disgraceful incident, which left Rhys with a constant stream of blood pouring from his nose and coming off with concussion 42 minutes in and will probably miss next weeks game due to the concussion rule.

He might have some niggle but Ferres isn't one to swing a punch without provocation

No doubt Hanbury did or said something, but Ferris should know by now that throwing a punch will like as not get you a ban, If that's the best he can do after his rest we can live without him for a few more weeks.

Ferres tackled Hanbury without the ball, then Hanbury pushed Ferres, Ferres then reacted by a single punch to Hanbury's face.

Agree Hanbury shouldn't have pushed him but Ferres' reaction was inexcusable.

Just plain stupid. Between injuries and bans he's becoming a liability. Prone to giving away penalties and dumb offloads also.

He started with Ferres. This would not have happened a few seasons ago as he would have expected a clout for starting with a forward.

The crowd had their part to play. We got on Hanburys back and he knocked on a couple of times. This was probably down to the so called concussion. But we did our bit.

Ferres shouldn't have reacted like that. Those days are gone. I am not condoning it what so ever but I am glad to see our players sticking up for themselves.

Should only get two games for that. It was one punch, face to face in retaliation. He didn't miss mind.

We cut down your options on just about every play, we didn't give you any time or space. That's not a poor team- that's a good one.

Just watched the video on sky. It was disgraceful.

At least six matches given his past form. Totally out of order and absolutely unnecessary.

Problem with this is, If it had been Robinson who had pushed and a big forward had stuck one on him, this board would be screaming for a big ban.

Ferris knows what happens when you throw a punch, yet on his first game back he doesn't have the sense to hold back. This is the guy some people want to be Captain.

ferres was stupid, let's not pretend otherwise he will cop a hefty ban for that,but hanbury was by no means an innocent bystander, and he got the giants fans backs up by appearing to fall rather theatricllly only to jump straight up once the red card was issued. but i am in no way condoning what brett did, it was stupod, unnceccesary and could have cost us.

as for the game, dire stuff, but what do you expect on a carpet of rubber balls? take nothing away from fartown though, some of our play and game management was superb again in the 2nd half,
widnes i thought offered very little except kev brown kicks, yes they scored a couple of tries out wide by outnumbering us but i thought we coped fairly easily with what they offered.

totally deserved to win that game and jerry once again was a monster in defence!

It wasn't unprovoked, it wasn't whilst he was on the ground. It was simply one rugby league player punching another.

He shouldn't have done it, but these things happen in the heat of the moment. Anybody who has played the game will agree.

And with regards to Brett Ferres previous, he's had one red card for a dangerous tackle. Hardly one for throwing haymakers every week.

And no I wouldn't be calling for the head of somebody if they did it to Robinson. I wouldn't be happy but wild still have the same view.

You are either extremely biased or you need to change your glasses. Watch the Video and if you don't see Ferris give Hanbury a big shove in the back off the ball. then you have a problem, That was the start of it, if you choose to ignore that ,fine Hanbury started it.

The pictures I'm looking at show Ferres shoving Hanbury off the ball. Hanbury pushed him back and Ferres decked him.

So it was provoked by Ferres and Hanbury didn't start it but he did get a clout.

When Ferres first made contact the ball was still in play as far as they knew. Hence Simpson collecting and running with the ball.

I am not biased I am more than happy to slag our players when I feel it is necessary, nor do I need new glasses.

Please share them. The footage I've seen doesn't show what happened after Simpson picked up the ball. But your version of events is not how I remember them- had quite a good view from our end of the incident.
