All three you'd want are Aussies on the pension trip. Why not stick with young British talent and nurture them into World Class players.

I cannot comment on Alex Brown as i have hardly seen him play. Leroy is a good choice for one wing. I have real worries about Mc Gilvaray's defence. Time will tell. i was wrong on KB at no 6. Hopefully i will be wrong on McGilvaray.

Saints fans still have problems with Meli's defence but he's still a member of one of the most successful teams recently.

That said we could both be wrong and put any old charlie on the wing as Brearley thinks you don't need any skill, speed or experience to 'walk in tries'. As a former winger I'd massively disagree with that but then again as a former winger of course I would!

Can you catch and repeatedly return the ball? Take the first hitup on the 20m restarts or anywhere in defence - you know the ones where their forwards try to smash you and the ball?

To be a decent winger you have to take some work off the other players and still manage to be on hand to score these tries in the corners, cleverly avoiding the flag, the touchline and the sliding defence trying to smash you out of the park.

Still the top tryscorer I think after his effort today.

to be there to take walk in tries means you have read the play and are in the correct position. Sounds easy but how many wingers struggle with this basic principle. David Hodson though has a lot more to his game than that he has made far more yardage than any other Giants player and very nearly everyone in super league and you don't do that by simply catching the ball and falling over the line.
I would like to see us sign a fullback and a real flyer for the wing for next season. Hodgson on the other wing, Cudjoe and Lawrence centres with Lolesi and Mcgillvary as back up.

D Hodgson might not be the fastest or most eyecatching winger, but he bloody well earns his pay in a Giants shirt.

As has been said his defence, his runs out of defence, his work rate all are something that cannot be underestimated.

As for "I could score those", he has to have the courage to hold his line, be in the right spot for the pass, catch it and then get to the line and down while evading defenders.

I 100% garantee that no one posting here could score his tries unless its a pro winger themselves.

David Hodgson would be one of the 1st names on any team sheet of minthe stick he gets is so unjustified, Hodgy is a finisher and thats what he does - regularly and in most games too !

Exactly !! thats what i say to the moaners every game .............would you want hodgson to make 1000 metres every game, make 200 tackles and only score 5 tries a season ..... or score lots of tries every season without being 'entertaining' !!

Look for the comments on Bruno - he is the centre inside Hodgson at the moment and he has been getting stick from some fronts because he doesn't score enough!!!

To me Bruno with Hodgson are prefect.
