The game is not all about offloads though as a lot of the Giants problem is trying to do too much with the ball.
If you actually check we only made 5 offloads less than Hull last season and more than both St Helens and Catalans who are both known for their attacking skills. Leeds made more than any team and it didn't get them very far did it.

| We need to elevate Broughy back up to captain for 2017, the players respond to him. We could keep Hinchy on as go-between the ref and Broughy, so that Broughy doesn`t lose his rag with the refs.

| I've been really impressed with around 80% of Hubys performances this year. Unfortunately he kept picking up injuries so couldn't get any form. If he can stay on the pitch he'll be a good player for us. Big guy with good hands.. don't forget he's a top goal kicker too!

That's fair enough, I admit i don't go looking at the stats, I tend to judge a game on what i see, If we are one of the better sides for offloading, we must be Very poor at it. You can see Brierley a dozen times trailing back onside, after having run through on the shoulder of a player," often Lawrence " to no avail. In my opinion we haven't had a decent offloader since Fiaumu.

| Stone definitely has the right ideas but was shocked to say Hooker was not on his list?. Right with regards to Full Back, Wing and Prop are the areas we need to recruit. For me we are fine in the 2nd row with Roberts, Lawrence, Symonds, Ikahihifo and Taai. A big name aggressive prop to go along with Rapira, Huby (Staying according to Stone) with Crabtree/Mason/Dickinson/Smith for the 4th spot and maybe another Prop coming in if Crabtree retires due to injury as suggested by Stone?. By his article today it doesn't to me suggest we have definitely signed the 3 from Bradford.

| I would imagine by outside back Stone will be looking for a centre not a winger.

I think we need both personally. Murphy and Ormsby are not top 8 material IMO and should be used as cover, Murphy for centre and Ormsby for the wing.
I think we need the following if we are to compete:
Full Back
Left Winger
Left Centre
Hooker
Prop x 2 If Crabtree retires if Not x 1

I know you go to games brearley but do you watch? Huby made more offloads whilst playing for hudds than he did for cas in the previous season. That has been said already on here- But don't let that get in the way of a good conspiracy theory.

| yes good to have just two players go under the knife this time round, quite a few be late back with internationals but will be same for most clubs, lets hope they dont pick up any injuries! happy for cudjoe and mcgillvary to get in the train on squad again , hopefully the middle 8's campaign hasnt halted their england chances...may have been boosted actually with anderson now involved!!
seen the stone comments... i also think he means a centre and not a winger as we are ok for wingers.. murphy not a top 8 winger?! was certainly a top 4 one last year?! would have thought gaskell is the ideal centre if the bradford ones are actually coming! seems still wardle is going...
full back yes lets hope its mamo.
huby rumours seem false! so lets hope he can have a good pre season now and do what we know he can do.
crabtree looks like its wait and see on him with that elbow!

| as for the offload debate this season the giants finished 9th in the table for those, last season we was 6th and huby was top offloader in 2015 but no where near in 2016 but hasnt played many games. none of our players figure in the top 10 for last two seasons.
judgind by stones comments he didnt want that style of play after the saints game, needed to get back to basics and thats fair enough.
we have more things to sort that just offloading, working hard for each other again would be a good start..roll on pre season for the lads and get some good bonding sessions!

| Based on some of the rumours on here and elsewhere, and end of this season etc, I think we'll look something like this;
Gaskell
Mcgilvary
Cudjoe
Wood
Mamo
Brough
Brierly
Huby
Randall
Rapira
Ta'ai
Symonds
Hinchcliffe
Lawrence
Leeming
Ikahififo
Roberts
Interesting times. With Clough,Ferguson,Smith,Murphy,Mason, Ellis, Ormsby in the wings just off the top of my head. Taken a few flyers in the above; not sure where Gaskell fits, although undoubtedly talented. I've taken a punt that he gets the full back slot. Not including Eorl, JJ or Joe. Regardless, adding in the Bradford 3 and the more likely Of the Newcastle 2, and the squad starts to look quite deep.
Target Top 4 and cc final. Settle for never being in fear of middle 8s and a 'team'.

| regarding fitness levels Andy spoke of coaches attitudes to the way they want a team to look, some look at size and body mass others more on agility. Baloo being a front row, wanted big players, Andy said players will be back in training earl, some very early, so its a no brainer what the team will look like next year
