| Quote ="Bilko"I'd forget all the technicalities. Wigan won both games because our bench is far stronger. Early second half Crabtree, Mason and Luke Robinson all off the field and thats when the game was lost from your point of view. They came back on and 20-30 down became 30-30, although from my point of view I wonder how much the sin bins had an affect on that. Then Crabtree went off again and Wigan retook the lead.
Same at Murrayfield. Soon as they interchanges came into effect your early dominance was worn away by Wigan. Thats the difference.'"
Rubbish, Wigan won today cos you were piggybacked out of your own 20 by Silverwood when you couldn't do it yourself due to the Giants defence.
Frustrated is not the word today and I do not honestly know how the players manage to keep cool with blatently obvious decisions going against em week in week out.
If it was a game of Snooker today there would have been an investigation. does Dicky go to William Hills?

What a load of garbage, how we can have a player sinbinned for head high tackle yet no one off hudds follows suit even though the majority of penalties that you conceded were for that offence.
I think you will find that Silverwood kept you in the game, remember we played 60mins with only 12 men, but i suppose that Silverwood was ok for those 20mins. Lets face it......you ain't good enough

How can you say that when EVERY one of your own tries came off penalties (two of them off back to back penalties) and one 40-20 kick? In fairness the only deep try today was Carmont's finish from Pryce's break (and perhaps that justifies a 38-30 Wigan win) but to say penalties helped us win is nothing short of an embarrassing statement. We had two men sin binned if you didn't notice. Did they not piggy back Huddersfield up field? You score three tries during those seperate twenty minutes.
Crabtree was off the field for all three of Wigan's second half tries to back up what I said. I think the second time Brown took him off was the biggest blunder. You'd got back to 30-30 with him on then took him off again!

How about blatant holding down? He should have been sent off not sin binned. Silverwood was busy sucking you off all game - gave you everything. Even two points for a goal Richards missed!

Was Andrew Coleys try a double movement? Was Andrew Raleighs? Come on Bilko - Coleys score was in front of you - was it dodgy?

Now i didn't go to the game so i can't comment on decisions of officials, however at what point did holding down become a red card offence?

I can't comment on Raleighs it was opposite end of the field. Coley's was only a double movement IF the ref had called held. Clearly he hadn't because he gave the try. You can't double move if stood up and not held. It's impossible unless a man's arms are so long he can stand up and have his ball carrying arm on the deck. He was stood up with four men on him and plonked the ball down on the line. Bad defence if anything!

| both dodgys trys in 1st half were fine nowt wrong with either of them, as for masons hit was it even late? no touchie came on until after dickie stopped play from which he plainly saw nothing with the penalty given for a shoulder charge imo old manned by TL who still had the ball when mason caught him, overall thought dickie was average but not reason we lost, 6 trys each goal kicks lost us the game and the dodgy no try from raleigh.

Answer the questions posed, why was Giants kick which was stopped by Wigan players foot not ruled back to 6 but when Wigan did it and Brett stopped it with his foot it was ruled back to 6 (you scored off this)
Why was Raleigh perfectly good try dissallowed when Coley's by the post was given?
Not poor reffing cos the same decisions were given differently as to which team they were for, as for having 2 sent to the bin it could have been far worse, Sean "2nd man in" O'Loughlin must have been warned 5 times for head shots but stayed on the field.
As I say other sports and there would be an inquiry!!!!! week in week out we put up with that

Aiiiiiiiiiii thought so, no answer to it then, maybe RFL headquarters could shed some light on it?
Refs should be available at end of game to face questions from press ect, would be very interesting hear em try blag that.
Investigations should follow

You really do post some guff. Are you never embarrassed by your one-eyed view of the world?
You answer some questions: Why was Leuluai's perfectly good try ruled out? Why wasn't the hit on Tomkins penalised? How come you gave 2 successive penalties away and got no yellow card but immediately afterwards Wigan did the same and had a man sin binned? How come Wigan had 2 men in the bin despite the penalty count being !0-7 [uin their favour[/u at the time of the 2nd binning?
Get a grip man! There were decisions both ways that could have been different. Grow a pair and suck it in. You're beginning to sound like that girl of a coach of yours!

I can only assume it wasn't played at. If the defender stands still and it hits him its not back to one. But if the defender sticks a leg out at the ball it is. Clearly you will have had a better view from the side than me in the corner at the end of the ground. I wasn't close enough to see it so can't comment.

That just sounds amazingly bitter especially when you CLEARLY (with two sin bins) had the better of the referee decisions. I'm no idea what the penalty count was but if it proves to be even then how can two sin bins to none be justified?
And What more do you want? Your not seriously suggesting only Huddersfield get bad referee decisions because thats what it reads like.
Facts are you've lost to us twice, Saints and Warrington and you've played all those teams at home so far. Reason? Your bench isn't good enough. Well thats my conclusion from the two games I've seen recently.

| Apparently the penalty count was Huddersfield 13 Wigan 11 (conceded). So Hudds concede two more penalties yet Wigan get two sin bins to none. Not sure how any of you can whinge about the ref, he was cr*p for both sides.

Because the in-goal judge saw him (coley) put the ball down and indicated to the ref it was a try. Whoever saw the double movement (ref or in-goal judge) gave a double movement. Simple really.

| I have no complaints about the Ref. There were some poor decisions but he was fair to both teams. If it had been a two point game and he had made several howlers then maybe i would have had a go.
The simple fact is that yesterday we were not good enough. too many mistakes, poor defence and at times a lack of ideas.
The simple fact is that we can not compete regularly with the top teams who play with power, speed and passing.
Once teams start attacking down the wings we always seem to be on the back foot. jammer is not a centre and Whatuira seems to have lost form. Hodgson is too slow to handle an attack who mixes it up. Eg if he goes back to defend a kick he cannot get back up quickly enough if they run it. If they run straight at him or he has to finish from 10 yards he is excellent. Cudjoe still seems to get caught out of position. is age catching up on Gilmour.
Did anyone notice that the players went down the tunnel at the end of the game rather than cooling down on the pitch afterwards. Was that planned or part of a new routine.

| I don't think it was a case of us not being good enough but more a case of us not being smart or alert enough. We do not start halves well, we're still in the changing rooms whilst the opposition are usually scoring points. To kick the ball dead twice in a game, once each way to eliminate the wind playing a part, on your home ground is a bit poor IMO and they were costly errors.
And we have patches where we just look like we've forgotten what to do. We stand off and stutter. They did well to come back from that shocking start to the second half and it was much better than last week but they need to figure out why they don't start halves properly and generally be a bit more determined and focussed.

| Our discipline was the problem. Whenever we had Wigan starting a set deep in their own half we gave up a penalty to take them out of trouble. A good match though that could have gone either way. I thought Raleigh had definately scored but then again I thought Leauluai had scored as well.

It's an absolute joke that Michael Lawrence is not in the side, Brown always takes the easy way out in picking his buddies. If he had the balls that Michael Maquire has then the Giants would get the results they are looking for.

Lawrences problem is that he can't break a tackle. He's great when defending but there's more chance of Lolesi and Fats making a break which is what centres should be doing.

I agree that lawrence does not offer much offensively. that however will only improve with playing and experience. that is why i describe him as a dfensive centre. After shipping 126 points in our last 3 games the emphasis has to be on defence.
defence wins games. You will not win many games if you concede as many points as we are. As for scoring opportunities we need to go back to basics and rely on our half backs and hookers to set the score sup.

| some good points from Danril and DG.
For me there is something badly misfiring in our defence of late, early season we were keen, had good line speed, controlled the collision and ruck and did it consistantly.
Now as has been said we make poor starts to each half, and spend times just making bad decisions and standing off.
And its these moments when we stand off that good teams get round our flanks where previously the line would be up and cutting out these movements.
In attack we are taking the ball too flat, and standing still, Wigan and Wire carved us up because they took the ball deeper and moving at speed when they got it. BASIC RUGBY.
If all the talk of what NB is going to do has affected the training then he has a LOT to answer for. Its an improvement, but early season we would have won that match, and its an improvement because it couldnt get worse.
