Can some kind Leyther please supply some local information? My wife and I will be in England on the weekend of 11-13 June when we will attend a game at St Helens on the Friday night and Warrington on the Sunday. Between these games is the England-France international at the new sports village which we are keen to see. We are travelling by public transport. Can anyone tell me how we can get to Leigh from St Helens and how easy is it to get to the stadium from the nearest bus stop? (I understand there is no railway in Leigh). Much will depend on transport times, etc., but we hope to see the game. Any information will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

Think 34 bus runs from St Helens to Leigh. You would need to check Arriva bus timetables. Nearest stop to the ground would be the 'Robin Hood' pub. About 10 mins walk from there. Similarly 10-15 mins from the bus station iin Leigh.

Alternatively , Train to Newton then a bus to Leigh from there .

Don't mention railway stations once you get to Leigh, sore point that!

Seriously would be easier to get a taxi.
There is a bus that runs to the LSV now BTW.

Are you staying in St Helens? It may be easiler to stay in Warrington, catch train to and from Warrington to St Helens and bus to and from Warrington to Leigh.

Daves right will be cheaper to get a taxi from Newton to LSV than it is for a bus .

Or stay at the Park Inn at the LSV

I am livid!!! I switched to Sky Sports to watch to-night's game, only for the commentator at thr b----y tennis to say the League would be available to Sky Sports viewers via the red buton. I have cable. I have been looking forward to this game for days! Hope the lads can do it.
