if and a big IF he stays fit i think he would be a good addition.Not lived up to the expectations i will agree but if i remember right he got a few against us last term.

I would prefer the two Coyle brothers from Oldham, Hartley is a little 'frail' for pro rugby as was (unfortunately) his brother.

Hartley is injury prone with a massive ego that is bigger than any talent he has. As for the Coyles we had one on loan at Fax last season and he was so bad we had to play him in our second team.

Only when you were playing Leigh though and you needed to win to qualify... re the Coyle....

That's just a rumour put about. If he comes lets give him a chance to get fully fit and see what he can do. Mick Govin was injury prone when we got rid of him and he's doing great things at Fax now.

Let's hope Hartley can do the same should he come to us.

Maybe "confidence" is mistaken for "ego". At the end of the day all good players have a swagger about them on the pitch.

Gov's series of injuries continued, last season at 'Fax. He is currently out with a potentially serious knee injury again, after being stretchered off against Gateshead. Initial prognosis is 6/8 weeks. Shame, he's got talent.

While we're on the subject of rumours I've heard from someone that Lee Doran may be heading back this way with him. No idea if there is any truth to that whatsoever.

Cant fault Dorans commitment to Leigh when he played last season though must have been one of our better players ,dont know whats happened to him since his return to widnes ,must be missing the Leigh love

He was a penalty machine for us last year but seemed to make up for it with his performances on the field. I don't think Widnes have had these yet.

The thing that winds me up about Doran is that if he cut-out the stupid penalties he would be one of the best forwards around. He must know that this is his downfall.

can't see him signing for us again as the present coach wouldn't pay what he would want, we don't need him anyway Smith gives out enough penalties without his 'partner in crime' coming back.

Back on a PT contract, part funded from Widnes paying up his contract - that would be affordable and I would take him.

It's a real shame as he's been playing well, the unfortunate thing is you just know he's more than likely to miss a load of games with injury

From my point of view when Hartley played for Fax he did some pretty decent stuff and always kicked fairly well. Just getting him on the field was the problem.

It's sad, but there are a few players who suffer like that - many of whom seem to end up at Leigh. Take last season - TKL, Moran.............!
