Anyone know since SKY started covering RL how many times we have actually won in front of their cameras?

Off the top of my head i can think of

Sheffield away (steve Simms in charge)
Whitehaven in the GF
Wakefield at Home SL
Hull KR away in NRC Final

The list of loses is a bit too long

I remember 1992-93

Won 8-6 v Sheffield at Don Valley
Lost 11-14 v Widnes at Hilton Park

1993-94

Lost 0-36 v Featherstone Rovers at Post Office Road
Lost 14-25 v Widnes at Hilton Park

After being crowned champions in 1982, right up the aforementioned SKY away win at Sheffield in 1992, we also lost the following live TV games.

HKR (A) 1983 - BBC - Challenge Cup - Lost
Leeds (Fartown) 1983- BBC - JPT Semi final - Lost
W*gan (Knowsley Rd) 1985 BBC -JPT Semi final - Lost
St Helens (Central Park) 1987 - BBC- Challenge Cup Semi Final - Lost
Salford (A)1989 - Granada RL Live - Division 1 - Lost

Think thats the lot in front of modern-day SKY as such.

But in the old pre-SL days of rival satellite broadcasters (BSB) & Kev Ashcroft coaching didn't we feature on some of those Monday night games (and were there some early kickoffs on weekends as well or have I dreamed those up?) - I seem to remember us featuring against (I think) York & Rochdale...

wern't they the old 'squarearial' days I remember going to the MM bar to watch one game but it didnt come on they had forgot to renew the subscription or not had the 'new' box tuned in some thing like that anyway

We never appeared on BSB, but the Monday night games and early Sunday match's that yourself and Fred recall were broadcast by a company called IIRC 'Sportscast' into licensed venues (ie MM Bar). We featured frequently 1990/1991

Northern Rail cup victory was the last time we won in front of the cameras.
Since then we have been embaressed in front of them.
its a case now of knowing which games we will 100% definatly loose, and those are the ones on the telly, Guaranteed.

I remember the Monday night games in the late 80s early 90s, being shown on British Aerospace Satellite service. It was a service just for pubs and clubs. Only a few pubs had the giant dish installed. I used to go into Woody's Wine Bar to watch the games. The broadcast came on about 7:30pm; up until that time, it just showed a test card.

Saturday afternoon live matches were shown on Granada. Elton Welsby, I believe, presented it and Clive Tyldesley was the commentator.

And even that was a fleece job
