Simple confusion of stats, Frank. I think it was probably that we had scored 18 points at h/t, and Doncaster had been awarded about 18 penalties, by the same stage. Understandable confusion, probably caused by the overwhelming excitement of the game. (e.g I was astounded, when I woke up, in the afternoon sun, to see that both teams had scored, after that somewhat soporific opening 20 minutes!) |

Agreed I think thats why John Kear cleared off I couldn,t with the shirt I had on some local might have tried to discuss footie with me.
I said on the coach coming back that the ref and the right wing touch judge had been possessed during a 20 minute spell in the second half.
Surprised only a couple of comments about it on the board but this is happening so often I am beginning to think our players are missing something. Or is it just us biased Leythers ? |

I'm loathe to criticise the officials, because I do believe our discipline is poor - but I cannot accept that Doncaster's discipline was nearly perfect. If, as an official, you set out your stall, to penalise high tackles (our speciality admittedly!) and give forward passes, then you have to apply those decisions consistently - against both teams! We very nearly lost that game, through our own failings, but also as a result of the opposition being given constant possession. |

Also Paul Handforth (No 7) hardly ever retreated back the full 10 yards and never got for penalised for offside once.  |
