Salford won't pay 85K for an assistant coach and I can't see IM taking a huge cut in salary to come. There are some saying that IM may see it as a foot in the door when Mcrae's contract finishes next year but I can't see our club giving any guarantee to IM getting the head coaches job in the future. What if he came as assistant and his face didn't fit or the players didn't respond to him? Personally I think if we had any spare cash it would be used to sign a better quality player rather than having the highest paid assistant coach in Superleague. I just can't see it happening. If IM has applied then he's probably done it to throw his cap in the ring for the head coaches job in 2012. (Assuming Mcrae doesn't get an extended contract)

Why does it matter who's turned us down?

Players and their agents will shop around for the best deal for them and Leigh Centurions will shop around for the best squad with the money they have available.

It's still early stages and Players have been known to come back and accept the offer at a later day, likewise clubs can make revised offers.

I just hope we don't leave it till 2013 to try and 'tick the boxes'. Backfired on us this year didn't it. We have to aim to be the best supported team, once Widnes have left us. Also should SL bound Widnes be allowed to enter the NRC and the GF play off series next season, as this could stop someone 'ticking a box'.

Was told the centre was Nanyn. Reason given not enough money offered. Someone said to me '"the offer was still too big imo" or something like that.

Of course they will be allowed, the official announcement of who gets in is not until March and by that point the fixtures will be out and doesn't the NRC start in Feb?
