The only clubs in rugby league who aren't a stepping stone are Wigan, Leeds and Saints, and even then they've got no chance if the NRL or rugby union come calling for players or coaches. Does this make Super League a 'feeder league', even rugby league a 'feeder sport'? There will always be bigger clubs ready to take our best players, but likewise we do it to the smaller clubs by signing their best players, and in return we get the ones not quite good enough for Super League, and our released players are safe in the knowledge that there is a level waiting for them.

Luakiki left Hull for Wigan in search of trophies. When you leave Leeds, Wigan or Saints, you're either going to the NRL or your career is on it's way down.

With all due respect and i apreciate what your saying Hull KR were a massive club and sleeping giant based in a huge RL [uCITY[/u with enogh room for two big RL clubs.

We are based in a borough of the biggest RL club in England and one of the biggest most famous in world RL. If thats not enough were 15/20mins from Warrington and Saints and also Salford.

Not trying to be funny just realistic.

Its not a case of negative thinking my whole point was if WE LEIGH CENTURIONS are to be successful and ever join the top table we have to find a way like we seem to be doing to be self sufficient and beat the odds.

If this means being a feeder type club by finding and producing young talent both as coaches and players and we have success on the pitch along the way then so be it.

It has to be better than the tryed and failed method of supplimenting the income with a rich owner and throwing money at over the hill players and coaches who have come for one last pay day.

Its a shame when people like you accept that leigh are now just a feeder club/stepping stone for the likes of Salford,Castleford Wakefield etc.
In fact we might as well just pack it in.

For the near 20 years I've supported Leigh, Salford, Cas and Wakefield have generally always been the league above us (and sometimes more) so why wouldn't a player or coach find a move there more attractive? I'm not saying it won't change at some point in the future, and that's something we've got to look to achieve long-term, but it's hardly a recent phenomenon, is it?

Why do some people have to resort to personal insults when somebody has a different opinion to theirs? I want LCRLFC to be the best they can If that's in the championship fine, if it's in SDL great.

It might never change, but that doesn't mean we stop trying to grow as a club. As I said, they've been at least a league above us for the majority of the past 20 years so it's not unexpected. It wasn't exactly a long time since Halifax was seen as a step up from Leigh, was it?
