| Leigh RL are only ever going to be sustainable with 6/7,000 + attendances , in fact it is 10K if the truth to be told
So the question is , how do you get to that level of support ?

| Quote ="mish"The last couple of years have been littered with ex players and staff who have been treated shamefully and whilst most people just care about the team they support I would only support a club who looks after it's staff in a respectful way '"
So if I am reading this correctly, you no longer support Leigh RLFC due to its current custodian? I assume from that then you no longer come and watch the team or support the boys in the shirt ?
Whilst I respect your view, it is also a 2 way street. I would be inclined to understand what you felt when say.
Paul Rowley, substantiated the Toronto job rumours and walked out on his contract , 7 days before the season was about to commence leaving the club and team without a coach. Or say,
Ryan Brierley engineering a move away whilst contracted to the club, at a time when he was it's only recognised fit half back, forcing Ridyard to play with broken ribs, or when,
Bob Beswick, who Derek agreed could move to Wigan for sentimental reasons in return for a nominal transfer fee, declared himself unavailable for team selection the remainder of his 12 month contract due to injury, when Wigan refused to pay the fee, (unlike Derek, who paid Warrington to bring young Highams home) Or when,
Jake Emmit who pleaded for a release from his Leigh contract for a once in a lifetime experience to travel the world, which Derek agreed to, only for him to subsequently sign for Toronto.
I could go back through the lengths of time, but it's Leigh RL I support, the boys on the field, not Derek, not who is on the board, not Jack Hilton, Not Brian Beaumont, but the boys wearing the shirt of Leigh RLFC at 3pm on any given Sunday.

Harold, I understand your sentiments and I'll see you at the front of the queue for season tickets. (providing our recruitment goes beyond 14! ) I am also grateful that a way forward has been found, that doesn't appear to have terminally damaged our club.
However, I would take issue with what has been said about the Ryan Brierley saga, in particular. I am confident that there was another side to the "spun" version of events that the club reported. I suspect, but am not sure, that was also the case with the Rowley departure. (and I was certainly not his number one fan!)
Some of the utterances in the recent, lengthy statements from the club, particularly when 'blaming' other parties, just don't stack up. I guess I'm from the camp that believes life is too short to hate anyone, but I'm also convinced that there are nearly always two sides to a story!
Roll on tomorrow's announcements!

Good Evening Alan, this all maybe so. However I remember going to Warrington for a pre season friendly. I remember it vividly, firstly all the talk pre match was that Rowley had been offered a head coaching role at a new venture in Canada. In Canada no less, by heck I thought, Canada, no it was not April the first. Umpteen people told me that on that day, secondly I remember young McNally being carried off in front of me, stood as I was in front of the try line in the corner of the terraced end.
Brierley probably pushed his luck, possibly badly advised granted, knowing his position was strong as the club's only fit half back, and the club called his bluff. I did not like what pursued in his statement, it caused untold damage to the club and every bit of it was unwarranted and unnecessary.

| Also as an aside, did Perez at Toronto not go on record and say the first ever RL match he ever saw was at LSV, when Rowley was Leigh coach.

Indeed , and also the rumoured attempt by Mr Argyle to purchase Leigh prior to setting up TWP , if I did get the chance to meet either him or Mr Perez , I'd inquire to what exactly were their long term plans for the club

Hi Harold. Whose statement - the owner or Ryan?
The offer of a coaching position in Canada, wasn't just restricted to Paul - I believe Neil had one too!

Well, I'm glad we aren't playing our home matches in Canada - even in blocks of four.
Steve, would it be correct to say that London Broncos, in the days of Richard Branson, were also interested in buying us? Now, if that had happened, we might have been in SL next season!!

I think that was more a way for Mr Branson to ' get out ' of his commitment at London without being seen to just dump them

Still amazes me that the sport couldn’t build on the decent crowds at Fulham. A couple of rival teams in centre of London would have got our sport to stage.

Accuracy again, my friend - UPVC Decking (clue in the company title AB Sundecks) You've got to admit that is far more classy than double glazing!

I didn't realise you and Mr's Perez and Argyle were on speaking terms
It would have been a short cut to SL , invest in Leigh , attain promotion , then move franchise to Toronto , reapply Leigh into League 1 to be run as dual reg reserves , thankfully Derek isn't as stupid as you
