As a fan. No. Furious. Still. Nowt to do with the TDC this is just me as a fan of over 30 years whose spent thousands supporting them all over the UK and France.

I got to limoux and back by every other way imaginable when the dust cloud was up. I probably wouldn't walk across the road if we played today.

An informal loose friendship with anyone is fine. Nobody will tell me the likes of Tom spencer doesn't put in as much effort as one of our own.

Having the love of your life officially announcing to the world she's now in bed with your bigger and better neighbour who you have never cared for too much in the first place, and being told you can pay to join in at £18 a time for which he shows you a few of his moves and tells you how he keeps up a good performance week in week out doesn't fill me with enthusiasm, even if he's going to lend me his lawnmower once in a while.

I've got a lawnmower, I don't want to watch my neighbour sharing my wife, and I certainly don't want to pay for it.

Hate is a strong word, I don't hate them. Maybe I thought I did when I was young and daft but I don't hate them at all.

Jukesy, duffs, mado, beswick, spencer, all Wigan lads. Sound as pounds, top lads. We can't hate them, they're wiganers but they're 'our' wiganers.



They're simply from our long established rivals, sporting politically and socially. Any rivalry in sport is what it's all about otherwise we might as well go watching morris dancing.

This isn't about that this is about Leigh being an independent club, we are one step of a feeder club as it stands, dress it up how you want, but that's how it looks to me.

Yep the history of LEIGH rugby is littered with wiganers but its never stopped the banter.It feels like we're being racist when ever we say anything now.Odd thing is,its not wiganers who are bothered



There is no rivalry now,the town has been swallowed up and the RL club is now wigan borough centurions,serving the wigan community. Gutted is an understatement.

I stand by what i said on another thread, the BOD must see this through to its end.What ever that is.

Leighlife radio won't be there either as we're going out with relatives for the day (that's presuming Swinton Wolves would even allow us to broadcast - remember last year when they banned us?)

Noticed a post further up stating if a Wigan DR player appears in our team then that's it. You must have stopped coming when we had 4 from wire then so what does it matter to you. Whilst not happy we have to see what it means as many things posted on here as to what it is bear no resemblance to the press reports or Trevors interview.

You're quite right John. The only thing i wish people would do is base their decision on the facts we currently have as opposed to what they think are facts. However i do think my analogy was fair...based on what we know to date.

And then a new debt free independant club can form, re negotiating a new deal with LSV and Leigh RL will rise again from the bottom to the top with new visionary people at the helm.

The current Sporting club Leigh was formed in the first place when the previous club folded in 2003

I wont deny that is what is going thru my head now, but the current BOD appear to have been working on this project for quite a long time now so imo deserve a chance to make it work.

It may open up new sponsorship markets and new supporters from all around wigans borough now they're linked.

I'm not saying this would be an ideal scenario. Far from it but if the club folded the next people come along. It's a fact of life.

I really looking forward to this one if it's only the west stand open are we claiming the south end?

I to am looking forward to the game , cant wait , i hope we can put Swinton in their place , and im predicting a score of Swinton 16 v Leythers 40 ,i wont try to predict the attendance , but i hope its Swintons biggest of the season , i may try the Breakfast upstairs before the game .

In a way I wish our current BOD and CEO would throw the towel in and leave all those who think they can do better to get on with it. They can certainly talk the talk but can they walk the walk? I'd certainly love to find out.

No I would not like to find out either, My point was merely that Leigh RL would rise again.

Whatever our disagreements one aspect has been evident over the past few days and is with out question.

There are still a lot of people who care passionately about Leigh RLFC.

Very true Harold , like most who post on here all i want is whats BEST for Leigh Centurions , i dont doubt the club in some way would still survive , but thats not what i want to see .

All fans agreeing will never happen we all have our own opinions and rightly so , we all think we know whats best for the club , i want to watch my beloved Centurions every week for as long as i can , hopefully it will be for a while yet .
